Forums - Sales Discussion - January NPD sales for Canada: Who's the Wiiner?

DIAR said: shams said: DIAR said: Not in the biggest market the USA where the 360 has outsold it over a 3 month period. Jeez people are thick. How many times do we have to explain it... - limited unit numbers - outsold 360 in *matching* 3 month period (i.e. after launch) by approx 2:1 Gotta love stats - you can always pull a stat out that gives you the answer you want (rather than building a conclusion based on true stats)... You are the thick one. The 360 outsold the Wii in November and the PS3 and the Wii combined in December. The 360 sold 1.1 million units in December, the Wii over 600k. I know it is hard for you Nintendo Fanboys to understand, but the 360 has outsold the wii over the 3 months since the Wii's launch, the numbers prove it. Now just suck it up and deal with it! FYI, The 360's launch compared to the Wii's is a bad comparison as the 360 was in short supply and not eas to find or it would have sold more. You lose.
Considering the Wii is STILL sold out everywhere you can compare launches and the Wii dominated the 360 in that aspect. Besides why do you have to use the three month arguement to say that the 360 is outselling the Wii? Is it because the Wii dominated the 360 in January?

1 month means very little, can it keep it up over 5 years? The jury is still out. FYI, when the 360 came out it had very limited supply, even more so than the Wii. So, comparing launches is not valid. The 360 was impossible to find.

The Wii is ALSO impossible to find. Maybe you just dont get that. None of the online stores have it in stock along with all the stores in my area. Link (None at any Gamestops/EB games within 300 miles Link (None at any targets within 100+ miles) Link (None at any of the stores on iTrackr) So yes the Wii IS impossible to find. Me and a couple of my buddies EASILY got 360's last year in late January. So why again cant we compare launches? Maybe just because your an extreme fanboy?

Yes the 360 outsold both Wii and PS3 in November and December both. It also had 3-4 times the number of units on store shelves, that kinda helps. ;) Let me ask you a question though. If the 360 is doing so well, why did they focus on the 10 million number so hard then draw back production so significantly? At this point, the "Zephyr" is nothing more than a rumor. The 360, in it's own ways, is a good console, but don't try to press something it isn't, it makes both yourself and what you support look bad.

Nobody is crazy enough to accuse me of being sane.

I just don't get your "3 months" story: isn't Nov+Dec+Jan 3 months? Facts are saying that the Wii sold m1.7 while the 360 sold less than a million when it was launched. Now are you comparing the last 3 months? in this case, why don't you add PS2 numbers ?? In the last three months, 360 sold 2.240k while PS2 sold 2.765k. And please, we are debating, so please be kind and polite.

You really are a moron aren't you? The 360 had half the supply the Wii had at launch, So THAT is why you can't compare launches, this is due to the Nintendo making almost twice as much systems as the 360! Jeez.

Pardon me mom! Go tell that to the idiot who called me a fanboy. And I am comparing the last 3 months, due to supply shortages I won't compare launch numbers. Microsoft in their total wisdom only shipped 500k. I ignore PS2 because they are last gen and Wii and 360 are current...Of course PS2 pawns all.

So I guess your a moron also then? This is based off what you say. Because whanever someone brings up the Wii outselling the 360 your like OMG BUT THE 360 BEAT IT IN THE 3 MONTH AVERAGE!!! But by your philosophy we cant compare the Wii at launch to the 360 now because the Wii is impossible to find and the 360 is EVERYWHERE. So if Nintendo had made even more than they did it might have been possible to outsell the 360 in November and December. But again this is falling on deaf ears because of the fanboyism you display.

Good lord. How old are you? Can you even read little fanboy? I said you can't compare LAUNCH numbers due to the 360 being of very short supply! You may be the only person here stupid enough to miss that. What part of you can't compare LAUNCH numbers because the 360 was of half the supply of the Wii did you not understand little fanboy? You wanted to compare launches and I proved you can't do that. Jesus dude, calmdown, don't wet your pampers.

Im not the one in Denial dude. Do you make yourself feel better by trying to insult people? Hoping that their younger than you? All I said was you could compare launches because they were BOTH sold out and BOTH could have sold more. But if the 360 was so popular why wasnt it sold out for longer? And also you completely ignored my second comment about how YOU cant compare the last three months of sales because the Wii has been sold out which is what you have been doing.
