well obviously nintendos 'announcing things a month before' thing hasnt worked that well with disaster. I havnt seen any marketing for it here in the UK except for a video on the nintendo channel, you couldnt even pre-order it at my GAME because they didnt know what it was

Basically, it just means that instead of Sony announcing a game coming out in 3 years, they're focusing on games that are actually within a year or so of being released.

 

And more imortantly, their 2009 line up is far from being fully revealed.

Tbh, 2009 is looking great thus far.  Things start off with a bang, too, unlike this past year where we had no big exclusives until MGS4 in June.

Killzone 2 (and it's great, you just have to play it ;) ) - February
White Knight Chronicles - Q1/2 (December for Japan)
InFamous - May
God of War III - Q3/4
Uncharted 2 - Q4 (November)
Ratchet & Clank Future II - Q4 (late October-ish)

And then there's other stuff like Heavy Rain, Demon's Souls, MAG, etc.

But the biggest one, GT 5 should also be coming that year, as well as FF XIII as an exclusive in Japan, so it will be a very good year for PS3 owners!

 

2009 will be the year of the PS3!!!!

 

 

GT5 is coming in 2010. The dev confirmed it some months ago...

Nintendo have only announced their small games a little while before release. You won't see a game like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc. announced a few weeks before release obviously.

Well i prefer it when the big games get announced like a year or 8 months before release it allows then to build up hype.

I have seen a lot of Saints Row 2 commercials lately, it seems like the Madden commercials just stopped not to long ago as well.  And I like not having games announced way ahead of time.  Look at FF13, I have begun to lose interest because it seems like the game just won't come (maybe 2009 for Japan and 2010 for everyone else and announced in what, 2006?!?!).  Also, it gives fanboys easy target practice for stupid stuff like delaystation.

Man I know this is better because it means I will be spoiled less but I just know that the next Team ICO project is close enough to completion that it bears watching.

There ain't nothing right about depriving a man of his Team ICO fix!

is GT5 going to release next year? man if they release that the europenas would go fucking crazy! on launch week ps3 would probably go up to 400k! so many system sellers! i can already think of 2 crazy announcments at E3 next year, god of war 3 release date and gt 5 release date that = DOMINATION!

It is also possible they have simply announced so many games so far into the distance that there are none left to announce.

Well, then Sony is a bunch of liars then b/c Yoshida has said they have more games for 2009 that they don't want to announce yet.
