Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Is the 360 Cheaper than the Wii?

I don't know how much they are in the US, but in the UK powerline adapters are much cheaper than the 360 wireless adapter.

Then they like living in a mess.

I have got 4 cables coming from my router. Its not pretty thats for sure.

I'm currently using WIFI to connect my 360 to the internet (the internet connection is in another room), but I wish they were in the same room.  Cabled ethernet performance is definitely better than WIFI.

Christ this topic is ridiculous. I'm this close to locking it just for the amount of closed mindedness and ignorance coming from the OP.

All you need to buy is a 360 Arcade. It costs 199.99. That is cheaper than a Wii. Everything else is...OPTIONAL!

Wireless-Optional
Online-Optional
Extra controllers-Optional
HDD-Optional

You can't speak for everyone's situations so you may as well speak for none of them. To use Gears of War as an example is to ignore the 14 million 360 owners that didn't buy the damn game. Yes to get everything you need out of the 360 Arcade would cost more than a Wii, but to get everything out of a Wii may cost more than a 360 Elite. It's all up to the individual.

Also I'd hate to break it to you sonny, but it's almost universally known that if you want the most out of online play, you don't use Wifi, you always stay cabled. Wifi is a convenience for your household needs, not your gaming needs.

Well as I own 3 360's I know that you need the hard drive if you intend to play games online. Granted the Arcade version comes with a 256MB memory. But this is not adequate enough for all the updates/add ons the owner will receive.

Gears of War update/Add ons alone come to 500MB.

As for getting the WNA. How many of you have your house completely cabled out with CAT5. I know I don't

To respond to RolStoppable. You can say exactly the same thing about the 360. I have 4 pads. And the Arcade 360 doesn't even come with a game. The Premium 360 does come with a game but that console still costs £184.99 and thats without a WNA. So in total thats £239.98. Still more expensive.

The point is there are a number of threads on here talking about the 360 price cut etc. But at the end of the day the 360 is more expensive. By quite a large amount.

And to top it all, Microsoft wants an extra £40 a year for the priviledge of playing online. The cheek of it. And like a mug, I pay it lol.

You dont NEED a hard drive to play online,i played online with a 56mb memory card, and the Wii is a party system!

Havnt you see the comericals with all the family members having a blast since it has little to no online games.

In Sweden, Xbox 360 with HardDrive and headset is cheaper than the Wii. Probably the same in other countries. Soon probably cheaper in all places.
