Forums - Sales Discussion - 7/26, big week for Japan.

what about dq:swords and zelda this week? will they drop massively due to all the new releases or will they sustain good sales?

Wangan Midnight is a racing game. Maybe people that bought Ridge Racer or like racing games in general will buy this game.

Thats like saying people that buy Mario Kart Wii ( my bet, between 1.5-2 millions) will buy DK: Jet ( With luck, 100k).

I don`t think so :)

I'm going to assume that just like Nintendo had extra Wii's on the shelf for DGS's release, it'll have more on the shelves for Mario Party 8's release. And with more people buying Wii's, more people than normal will be buying DQ. So it should have a fairly decent holdover. Can't say for Zelda though.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

What's with the PS2 releases? New "Players Choice" (or budget) titles or something?

I think MP8 will outsell HotShots. As stated above, it does have triple the install base. But it may be a close battle. HSG might have better day#1 sales, but MP8 may win the week.

Its thanks to Japan, that MP has been going as long as it has.

Ain't gonna stop makin Mario Party 'til they run outta numbers.

I hope Mario Party 8 doesn't sell well, but that's because I wasn't entertained by it, and damnit, I'm the status quo! All should follow!

I'm surprised few of you have faith in Gundam.

Yeah didn't Gundam sell really well on PS3 even though it got bad ratings?

Well, I still am horrified by my Chinese roommate going to Japan to.. well, bang his girlfriend there, and not speaking a word of Japanese, trying to buy condoms at a convenience store. Took 15 minutes for them to stop trying to sell him Gundam things according to him.

I think this week is going to be a battle between Hotshotsf 5 and Mario Party 8. Hotshots has history on it's side, but considering how well the Mario Party games did on the Gamecube considering it's base in Japan, and considering just how much MP8 is suited for the Wii, and how well it's done in NA, I honestly wouldn't be suprised to see Mario Party outsell Hotshots.

After all, the Wii does have 3 times the install base.

I agree that Mario Party will definitely outsell Hot shots 5 in software. But which will push more console sale?
