Just a random question.

Is Sony really done for? Is there no hope for them this gen? Well, other than 3rd place that is...

This is a really stupid question. Sony is a multi-billion dollar corporations that sells other products and forms of entertainment besides videogames (besides for the fact that gaming industry saved their asses). This gen isn't bringing too much luck to Sony. All they can try to do is pump out good 1st and 2nd party games. They have the PS4 being worked on as we speak. Someone has to be in 3rd place sometime. Nintendo was in 3rd place last gen and when they went back to the drawing board they came up with a system that appeals to the masses. Now look at them they are in first. Sony fans have such a blind faith in the infallibility of Sony, when they are just as human as you and me. The sad part that most fans don't realize is that they are a monopoly hungry corporation just like Microsoft and the only thing standing in their way really is Microsoft. Sony fanboys got a sense of safety while watching Sony shovel away games from Nintendo and create an army of games and stay strong for two generations consecutively.

A stupid question is answered by a stupid person, correct? Anyways, only one person has caught on.

Stupid questions are not answered by stupid people. The question you asked had a logic behind it that was childish, in this case, to some who would overlook it, I had to say something. When you have children that ask outlandish or even obvious questions, you will still have to grant them an answer anyway.

A question can never be stupid, atleast in my view. The logic wasn't childish, since overall everyone except one failed to see it.

While I'm somewhat inclined to say yes, due to the history of this generation. As it will be shortly coming to a close. I'm deeply hoping that sony will at least be able to match, if not equal xbox 360's sales.

While I don't own a PS3, instead I own a xbox. I don't want to see sony fail in what they are doing, I still believe they have alot to offer gamers. Even if its though competition with microsoft. If sony is "done for" than microsoft is free to rule over the hardcore market with a iron fist. If nintendo's actions over the past few years are any indication, they will focus on expanding the gamer market first before focusing on existing gamers. Leaving microsoft to screw over existing hardcore gamers with policies that we may not agree with.

Believe it or not, sony and microsoft actually help eachother out. By competiting with eachother, they are ensuring that the market remains fair for the consumer. Us; thus the invisible hand works once again.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

What a sad topic. 360 is winning right now, but once PS3 drops to $299 (it could be a year or two away) PS3 will dominate the 360 everywhere. The Wii is in first, but no serious(core) gamer considers it a gaming machine anymore, nor do game reviewers. Its like saying the Ipod sells better than the PS3, so it is in 1st. Yes the Ipod plays games, but not good ones. Same situation. The real fight is PS3 vs 360, and right now the 360 has the edge.

You don't think that this may be a little to long for sony to wait? In 2 years you'll be able to get a 360 in a happy meal™.

SONY's goneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Despite the various exclusives coming out such as LBP, motorstorm, resistance 2, gow3, killzone 2, infamous, heavy rain, GT5, FFvXIII and the countless multiplatform games showing life on the PS3 platform ...

SONY's goneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Actually I can admit myself that Sony and Microsoft both cling to a style of gaming that can only give slow innovation and high levels of graphics and power to each incarnation. Nintendo has always been the risk taker. Sony doesn't understand this aspect of gaming and neither does Microsoft. They would have to love the gaming industry to understand Nintendo's reasons to try and push the limits. Sony is trying to monopolize the gaming industry because gaining mass market share saved the company as a whole from fading into obscurity to its competitors. Microsoft came into gaming because Sony was becoming a threat to the PC market and they wanted to monopolize too. Nintendo is the only pure component in all of this. If Nintendo dies...true gaming dies. Sega is gone as far as making consoles is concerned. Nintendo is all that is left. Sony and Microsoft will NEVER be any heart of gaming. The thing about it is Sony was so close to monopolizing the market before Microsoft came and the more they learn about how to survive in the industry, the more dangerous they become.

Its not done for, it was doing great all year until the pricecut last month. the effects of the pricecut should last until LBP comes out and Ps3 will regain ground but then will lose it when Gears of war 2 comes out, but eventually will take it back. Tug-o-war.

I don't like comparing overall if its second or third because the Xbox 360 got a full year head start..... In reality, PS3 is in second place if you were to compare them in their second year sales. Its just not right to say.... Xbox 360 is winning this gen for HD consoles, what happens if PS3 and 360 came out same time? then we would have a whole different scenario.

Xbox 360 second year: 13.619,788
PS3 second year: 15,771,413 (not even done with its second year, still have one month left)

LOL. Probably true to and then see their numbers fly.

Fanboys won't be able to comprehend what you just said.

Yeah...things might've been different if the PS2 and the Xbox came out at the same time as well.
