Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why wouldn't you buy a xbox360 at 150 euro?

Two reasons...

1) its going to get even cheaper IMO. MS are clearly willing to give 360s away to stay in second place and depending upon how holiday's go and when PS3 gets a price drop (early 2009 surely) MS nmay well need to reach for price again in Europe to keep close to Sony

2) I still don't trust its reliability and to get what I think of as a decent version (HDD, etc) still costs to much for unreliable HW IMO

So I'll wait and pick one up cheap late in the gen with the few exclusives that interest me from its back catalogue.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I dont like it.
So I have to put it sideways so it wont break and scratch my disks?Thats what my friends are doing.
I have to get batteries for controller.
I have to pay for playing online.
I dont trust Microsoft.

Take my love, take my land..

Cause i already owned one, it broke, 7 times. Never going to buy a MS-console again

With its price down to £130 I am sorely tempted. Still £30 to much though.

For me its because I have a decent gaming PC that gets the 360 games I really want and I also don't want to shell out (however cheap it is) for a console that is very likely to break several times.
For me that seems simple but I really am stunned that the 360 can't pull off more sales in EU region with the extremely low price and some solid games (not everyone owns a gaming PC after all, in fact; very few do).

- I don't own an HD television and from what I get it's a must from the so-called "HD" consoles. if I bought a new TV, I'll try to get a good one, which in the end will make the price of the whole Xbox360+HDTV go much higher. And it seems that finding a proper HD TV is not a easy task, and at the moment I don't want to spend time searching for a good HD TV.

- like for the TV, if I were to get an Xbox360 I would probably go for a version with decent features, not the cheaper one.

- the Xbox 360 doesn't have that many games I really want. And half the ones I'm interested in are also available on PC. Strangely I'm more interested in games from XBLA (Braid, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2, Double Dragon,...) than Xbox360 retail games.

- RROD. Even though the consoles are apparently more reliable, the risk of failure still feels too high to me.

- it seems too big, as I don't have that much space in my appartement where I already have most of my consoles (old and current).

- I have enough (too much) games already.

- a cheaper console doesn't make the price of the games go down. What's up with the price of the PS360 games ? I've never paid more than 60€ for a new game (and that still feels expensive), I don't now if I'm ready to accept paying even more for new games.

The 360 is a total waste of money for anybody who has a gaming PC, that's why I and many others won't buy a 360.
