@Sqrl: Past sales are nothing to go by. Wii sales will depend ENTIRELY on how many Nintendo produces. The Wii will sell no more and no less than every unit it can possibly produce, ship, and put on stores by 11:59 PM on the 31st of December 2007.

you re right but so what is the prediction about how many nintendo unit can produce before the 31th december ?

I expect them to be at 17 million so within the estimates of the most people here.

But seriously, how can someone perdict the PS3 will all of a sudden start selling in 2008? There are two big games coming out then, yes, but a Final Fantasy title usually sells 2 million units in it´s first week and drops to 100k the second. This means 2-3 weeks of a sales boost, nothing more.

In 2008 the Wii will get all of those killer - apps the PS2 and PSX got in the past. Plus, all the Nintendo titles.

how can someone predict the 3rd parties would develope games on the No. 3 platform? Just because it is called Playstation?

Come on, guys... this is gettin crazy...

im gonna say that im sure they are gonna be pass 360...so if 360 is at 15 mil im sure wii will be a few mill past that

and i think ps3 sales are gonna pick so im sure eventually thats gonna pass 360 too...when...im not sure 

so it take 9 month to the wii to hit 9 million and it'll take only another 5 month to hit the double ?

This statement is true, but it seems that a lot of folks on this site don't remember one of the articles from pre-launch. The complaining about stockpiling has been pretty bad here, and the thought of listening to folks drone on about stockpiling is sort of annoying but whatever...here ya go...

With production exceeding expectations, why release the console so much later than many anticipated, and right on top of the PlayStation 3's November 17th launch? It all comes down to software. While Nintendo may have warehouses full of Wiis, they need a launch lineup and reliable system software to go along with all that stockpiled hardware. But Zelda has to be done ... we would have been happy with just that, promise. year. The language appears to indicate the possibility of building, if not shipping, as many as 11 million Wii consoles by the end of the calendar year!"

This was an article from October of 2006. Not very many people have talked about or seen it that I know of, and I have searched google for anything that contradicts or retracts it but haven't found anything yet.
