I was of two mind on which version to buy, but if what the above saying is true then I will definitely be purchasing the PC version to show my support for the developer's decision

You missed the l at the end of the link.

It doesn't say no DRM, it just says no DRM issues like sport. It says there will likely require CD at launch.

No DRM is Sins of a Solar Empire.

Edit: obviously I'm answering the OP.

I agree, but then, if Fallout 3 bears even a small resemblance with its predecessors, I couldn't think of a better platform than PC to play it on anyway.

No DRM is Sins of a Solar Empire.

 

To be honest, I'm so use to game that have that stipulation that I didn't even consider it a DRM until you mention it and got me thinking.

So yes, its a DRM, but it is extremely no invasive and still something I wish to support when compare to the draconic measure adopted by games like Spore.

It's certainly increased my likely hood of getting it to probably 75%. If it was no DRM at all, it would be 100%.   Spore dropped from about 80 to 15%.

Do you consider *require CD to launch* a DRM? I'm just curious because its been around for so long that I never even realize it is until today.

Anyways a quick no-cd patch should rectify the issue, if the info is correct, this has now become a day one purchase for me.

Yes for PC I consider a require CD to launch as DRM. I generally will only purchase games that I can find a no-cd patch for and sometimes that can take months. (Probably not for this big of a game).  So, does this make me a pirate?

Personally, I would rather have a require online internet access to play to be less of an issue. I know it could mean you couldn't play in the unlikely event the internet is down even if it's a single player game, but I put requiring a CD more of a hassle.

Yay! Although I'm still going to hold off on decided which version to pick up until I hear that the PC version isn't bugged to hell at launch.
