The WII is only a gaming system MS and Sony want to take over your living room as the central hub. They want you watching and downloading movies on it, surfing the web, looking at pictures ect. The WII is gaming only

lol i know, it's just funny to me that a device that is NOT a media hub is going into an area you would think a media hub would be more beneficial.

Interesting, because with the web connection, I can stream on certain sites.
In the UK, the BBC/one has a web portal and is working on a channel for the Wii.
Meanwhile, correct me if I am wrong, but the Xbox 360 still cannot surf the web.

Basically, this is the beginning of a new round of hotel contracts for Nintendo. It had these back in the N64 and SNES days. Nintendo is very good about getting units to places people stay (hotels, hospitals) away from home. That way they play -- and then buy.

OT, the thing is even if the wii could be used as a media hub, the general wii userbase don't strike me as the tech-savvy kind that'll actually put it to good use.
