Forums - Sales Discussion - What game do I think could beat SMB at 40 mil?

This one

I may be crazy, but I think we can make it happen.

Edit: OK DKII I am giving in, it's Super Mario Bros. 4, let's make it work.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Putting in a little more information might get more people to actually click the link. :P

You're right, but I think it is more dramatic and will get more of a long term response. I am looking at a real sustained effort at making this happen.

Edit: Lot's of hits, but no comments.  What do you think?

Eh, I don't click anything without a synopsis. If it's a game I wouldn't care about I'd feel like I wasted time clicking it. So why don't you tell us what game you think it is?

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

JJ, I just gave in, right before you posted and put in an edit.  It's my idea to get a community thing going for SMB4.  I want to make it happen, or atleast have a lot of fun trying.

It was called "NEW! Super Mario Bros." and it sold well. But not nearly enough to beat out its predecessors. End of story.

Time to Work !

The point is my desire to get a 2D platformer made for Wii called "Super Mario Bros. 4". Mainly, focusing on the popularity of the Wii and nostalgic properties among the primary buyers among gamers. Considering this the game could surpass Super Mario Bros.

I don't think any unbundled retail release game will surpass the 40 million sales this decade or next. The game would have to be bundled with hardware for at least part of a console's life.

Wii sports, interestingly enough, has a reasonable chance at breaking SMB's record if it continues to sell as well as it has been and is bundled for a long time.

That is probably the most reasonable arguement I have heard as far back as I can remember. Thanks for actually talking about my suggestion.

You are probably right.  If it did happen Wii Sports would most likely still be ahead of it.
