Forums - Sony Discussion - Rachet & Clank comments - gameplay not innovative, no multiplayer

@ amiiam

Super Mario Galaxy seems to be pretty different as compared to Mario64. IMO that's not always beneficial as I rank Mario64 amongst one of the best games ever created, IMO badly in need of a proper sequel.

At least to me Super Mario Galaxy doesn't look that interesting, I think if the game would've been created by a third party, thus lacking Mario and his buddies the game wouldn't nearly generate as much hype and high expectations and may even bomb. IMO don't fix what isn't broken and Ratchet and Clank's basic gameplay doesn't seem to be in need of fixing or to be completely overhauled. Apart from the amazing visuals there seems to be great additions to the basic gameplay, for example the funny Grovitron that makes the enemies dance and the Sixaxis motion controlled robot copter and tornado weapon.

And hes a mod, wow. Post the same made up thread title to make it look bad thread about the ohh so many awful wii games hed be sending you warnings.

Wii owners had a rough E3.

Celb. This thread has no trolling, it's a discussion about the possible negative aspects of a game.

Your a few posts away from a ban with trying to pin trolling on others, when your guilty of it too (didn't the E3 Wii ban teach you anything?)

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

The thread title is merely a summary of the article which got posted. I'd rather have informative thread titles like that than "wow" or "OMGWTF".

"gameplay feels identical to previous iterations"
Oh my, what a surprise !
Killzone 2, Halo 3, Lost Odyssey and Super Mario Galaxy are going to be so freakin innovative, yeah ?
No.
But we would still love them.

And R&C looks fantastic.

Totally agree. When I saw that sentence I realised the guy writing it was a total idiot. If the previous ones sold, then this won't be an exception because it's more of the same. Otherwise GTA/Halo/Maio/Pokemon/C & C etc would have stopped selling a long time ago.

The videos of it so far look great.

The gameplay shouldnt become too complex I believe, it does after all target many very young gamers.

Also even from the brief videos I have seen, there appears to be plenty of fresh ideas , like the Groove-a-tron, people in the crowd were laughing and clapping at this weapon at the Sony gamers day, and innovative gameplay (like fighting the boss upside down).

I'd say it will be a hit.

Perhaps you missed the next sentence and posted a knee-jerk reaction? The one where he says... Of course, that's not a bad thing -- the franchise has rightfully earned its legions of fans

Meaning that either he's not a total idiot or you have some other reason to believe so?

Celb it's a parody of the exact same MP3 thread a Sony fan posted entirely about a single paragraph of a single preview that was negative when every other preview was universally positive. So how do you like it?

I agree he say that, but then he says "However..." and carries on complaining.

That guy has a point. This game is probably gonna play exactly the same as previous R&C. And that is not bad. If you liked previous R & C, then you`ll probably get this one. I just think that this won`t bring new players to the console. And for the ones that say Mario Galaxy is going to be the same as always. You seriously need to shut up. Same for Metroid 3. I can understand that you say Zelda TP played the same as the other entries, although it did have some stuff to make itself difference. But when a games theme, style, and control scheme is completely changed, and works, you should take notice.
