Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sell me on your system of choice

Being new to these forums, I see a lot of "fanboys" arguing over this console or that.  While I don't like these flaming threads, I wanted to bring out the fans of various consoles to tell me what's so great about them.

So, the premise is this.  I'm in the market for one of the nextgen consoles, but am unsure as to which one to get.  Why should I buy one or the other?  No bashing other consoles, just tell me why I should buy the one that you like the most.  Also, try to refrain from replying to other posts unless you have something to add, not just to tear them apart.

I'm extremely interested to see what you guys have to say!

omg this could get voilent...

very good thread for sure, gg
maybe later,

Time to Work !

I would get both the Wii and the Xbox 360 for around the same price as a PS3. The Wii has innovative gameplay, whereas the 360 has traditional gameplay and is a powerful system. Forgive me for being so vague.

Get the PSWii60

oh here we go again....i got 2 go to another thread now!!!! O_O

I would get a ps3 if i were you.

resistance and motorstorm and ninja gaiden sigma are great games out right now , along with oblivion and rainbow six for multi platform games.

lair comes out in august and so does warhawk, with heavenly sword in september and ratchet and clank in october and uncharted/ haze/unreal tournament in november.

not to mention killzone and mgs 4 and little big planet in early 08, with Final Fantasy 13 and Gran Turismo 5 to follow.

the game lineup is sick, and the system doesnt have the greatest games out right NOW, but if you're looking for something that will last 10 years i think its ur best choice.

oh yea and it has a blu ray player too.

Don't forget the PS3 has:

less than 1% failure rate (your chances of having to send it in for repair are minimal, even then the repair/replacement process is cake)

motion sensing controller (in all 6 axis)

wireless controller using a standard Bluetooth 2.0 transmitter standard in every version (easier to make add on devices like guitars, etc)

standard 2.5" SATA (laptop) hard drive for easier upgrades later if you find you need more storage room

ability to plug in any external USB 2.0 hard drive (formatted with fat32) or thumb drive

ability to plug in standard USB mice and/or keyboards for use in the browser, side-loaded Linux OS or some games

standard memory card readers that can be used for save games, transfer pictures, music, etc.

it's ultra quiet (and if it's not get it fixed!)

7.1 surround sound capability and DTS-HD for excellent surround sound (really getting into the game or movie)

HDMI 1.3 support (future proofing)

built in wireless Ethernet B/G

Copper Gigabit Ethernet [10/100/1000 Gb/s] (but I doubt you have a gigabit switch

>75%(? not sure on this number, I think it's higher) backwards compatibility for all PSOne and PS2 games (>95% if you buy the 60G now) if your looking for that

...

It seems the mods need help with this forum.  I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.

This cannot end any way other than badly. Staying out of this thread.

If you decide to go with the Wii you will get an unmatched amount of triple A first party titles which are almost guaranteed hits. Titles made by the famous Shigeru Miyamoto, the uncontested greatest game developer ever. If you are the type of person who can appreciate a title that can be truly amazing without the gore and violence of a GTA game then you need the Wii.

Released First Party.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess- This game was made for the Hardcore gamer and is a guaranteed hit with anyone who plays it. It is the sequel to what is considered the greatest game ever made (Ocarina of Time), with more dungeons than have ever been in any one Zelda game this promises to be an unforgettable experience. I have played it and it lives up to this hype. GET IT!

Mario Party 8 - This is the kind of game that if you play at a party you will be playing it all day long. With a massive amount of mini games in a classic Mario Franchise, you are in for a good time. This is the type of game that has unmatched replayabillity, the type of replayabillity that Nintendo franches are known for. If you have friends over, MARIO PARTY its that simple.

Wii Sports - The number one cause of the Wiivolution. A virus spreading across the planet faster than any console before it. Play this game with your friends and that's it, they are getting Wiis. It is that simple. Reviewers say that they can reccomend this game for Wii Bowling alone, they say it is that good.

Wario Ware - Non stop action and amazing use of the Wii remote. Over a hundred mini games that you have to complete within a small timeframe. Each making original use of the Wii remote.

Unreleased First Party.

Super Smash Bros: Brawl: Have you ever wanted a game that you are just amazed at the level of detail that a team of developers go through to make a real tribute? This is the game you need if you enjoy the Nintendo characters. For those of you that played GC's Melee, this will come as no surprise to you. If you never played Melee, then you didn't have a Gamecube. It was just that good. The successor hopes to be even better with bran new references to legendary characters from the Nintendo Hall of Fame. Third party characters come into the mix now as well.

Mario Kart Wii - a game that is sure to be an incredible experience. The series has always had incredible replayabillity. The dreaded red shell is considered one of the greatest weapons of all time for the feeling you get from having a guaranteed hit on the enemy infront of you. I played this for over a year after the original Super Mario Kart came out.

Super Mario Galaxy (no reviewer can find anything wrong with this title and many suggested it for best of E3)

Wii Fit - getting tubby from too much gaming? Wii Fit has your back. This game offers a large variety of exercises using a new revolutionary Wii Balance Board. Everything from Yoga poses to Strength training. The Balance Board has more use than just this one game. Across the internet people are seeing the potential of this accessory for games like Tony Hawk, SSX, and even FPS.

Someone else to third party I am tired of writing now.
