Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 set to dominate Tokyo Game show.

I am pretty sure that FFXIII is not a return to older FF combat systems... IGN has it listed as an action-RPG and it has been desribed to be the an action packed combat system with an emphasis on action and gun play... Sounds like a JRPG version of TooHuman. I can't get a link right now because I am at work.

Back on topic.

Tokyo Games Show is always dominated by Sony, because Nintendo doesn't go.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

So Sony dominated at E3 which Nintendo and MS didn't care about. And Sony dominates at the Tokyo Game Show which Nintendo boycotts, lol. Wow, you get em Sony. If only selling consoles was this easy.

@Gballzack

you re right, my last post was crap, I hope this one will be better,

my post was about ur SH comments vs ur SC comments.
Both have sales decrease, but for one u saied it was still a good serie (SC), and for the other u saied it was not anymore one (SH).
If compare the 2 last episode, SH4 is less good than the others SH BUT is really innovating, SC is a good SC BUT it is because SC3 is exactly the same than SC2 ! It remember me Tekken serie, or a lot of fighting based serie, where develloper dont make anymore innovation. They just add 2-3 character by episode ...
So I prefer SH4 than SC3, at least u have a different game.

About the "picking a fight", I was referring to ur first words :
"""""wow, the sony fanboys are getting desperate. Since SH2 was the last worthwhile SH game, I don't see a loss in not getting SH5 or Origins. Typical settup thread from Blue 3 I suppose.""""

Really interesting comments for sure ...

If SH5 would be exclusive to xbox360 or/and Wii, I m sure you would have been the first to say "yeah, too good, I will play SH5 on my Wii" or "yeah, too good, Sony lost it !!"
We both know that SH4 was not as good as SH2 but we both hope that SH5 will be better, at least I hope (develloppers claimed they wanted to make a SH2 like games).

Well there is a long time between now and when FFXIII comes out so let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Since Square-Enix are whores for playing the field I don't see FFXIII going cross platform but you do have to remember that FFXII had a console with an instalation base of 120million and was a follow up to perhaps the most successful GBA game of all time, Tactics Advance. FFXIII has quite the disadvantage compared to its predicessor, let's just hope that Blue Dragon doesn't deflate the hype for FFXIII or Square's ability to make fresh games.

I'm so confused by this post.

1. FF7 and FFX sold better than the rest, and they were the first on the PS1 and PS2, respectively. I expect FF13 will do quite well.

2. With that argument out of the way...

NameConsolePublisherJapanAmericaOthersTotal
Final Fantasy TacticsSquare1.370.950.132.45
Final Fantasy Tactics AdvSquare0.460.790.401.65

Now, I understand your connection with the world of Ivalice, but most successful GBA game of all time? Huh? The original PS game sold better...and I'm pretty sure FF12 was a stand-alone game just in the same universe.

And again, FF12 was a different combat style that a lot of people didn't like as much. FF13 not only returns to form from what I hear, but it looks ridiculously good in the few videos we've seen so far. It'll do fine.

Anyway, the original argument was that DQ does not Dwarf FF in Japan, it just sells a little better.

I am greatly looking forward to TGS.

1. Were the PS1 and PS2 luke warm failures like the PS3?

2. People were looking forward to the world of FF12 though because of FFTA. I fail to see what comparing FFT to it has anything to do with it as FFT was only ever connected to franchise after the fact. Was FFT on the GBA? So what do you prove by connecting the two? I never said it was the most successful GBA games of all time, just one of them, perhaps you should read a little more carefully next time. Sigh...

In the end all you've managed to do is make yourself look like someone who can't take the time to read. Hell I'll even give you I was a bit over the top of in calling FFTA one of the most successful GBA games of all time, but if semantics is all you can call me on, why did you even bother replying?

Why do you even bother posting (IN THE SONY FORUM) if you are just going to bash Sony, everything connected to them, and anyone who is positive about anything Sony?

More people were looking forward to FF12 because it was #1 a FF game and #2 the same world as FFT.  Your attempt to make it look like a sequel to a GBA game is just weird.

FF7 and FFX did not come out with a big install base, and calling PS3 a "failure" is premature and so 5 months ago.

Stop being stupid.  Nintendo and Microsoft cared a lot about E3, and Nintendo will be at TGS this time.

If only making you get out of the Sony forum was easy...

For the last time Nintendo will be at TGS because of DQ!

Hihi, you're funny! Did you know that, when you align the launches of the PS, PS2 and PS3, the PS3 beats it's predecessors? Íf you don't believe me:

http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps.php?cons1=PS&reg1=All&cons2=PS2&reg2=All&cons3=PS3&reg3=All&align=1

PS2 had start-up problems and is now ultimatly reviewed as the most sold console éver! So I don't see any problems for the PS3. The high rolling games are coming.

Lol.. and this is coming from me, a Nintendo Fanboy.. :P

Not this shit again. -_-

That chart only has European data from 2004 onwards, so the PS1 and 2 data is almost completely missing all the sales from Europe (over 33% of the totals). Also, those consoles launched a year before the competition, while the PS3 launched last or second last, depending on the territory. There are reasons to believe the PS3 might still do reasonably well, but the ones you listed are totally invalid.

can we get a link on the top of the first side showing that during the same time PS2 sold 3 millions in Japan, PS3 has sold 1 million. Thanks
