Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wheres the big 3rd part support for the wii ?

That's fine, Ck, they're still multi-platform! You can't do that for such a list. Separate them out like I did, and show the individual exclusive support for each platform. Combining the support of all platforms is unfair -- and in this case, only emphasizes just how weak the PS3 is, at it's seen no new exclusive announcements from third parties for almost 4 months.

I was going to make a list of games for the whole year but realized that it would take way too long to make if two months already contains 25 games coming to 360 and PS3.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Well, even if Wii get some announcement recently,

there are still more game from third party coming on PS3 and Xbox360,
that is all, we all know this I think.
(I thought PES2008 was coming on Wii but No ...)
I think this is what ckmlb was saying.

I agree with naznatips and Donwii that any effect of the recent third party shift could not come in 3 sec even for Wii game easier to developpe. We have to wait until 2008.
That is why when all Wii fan of the forum were screaming "wii is going to have third party, wii gg !!!!!!!!!!!", I doubted that these games will be released this year.

This is ridiculous. So your claim that the Wii is getting the most 3rd party support is that it's getting exclusives that would not be on the other 2 consoles because they are either totally based around motion or the graphics would be laugable on the other two consoles.

What do you rate 3rd party support on? Any game announced or actually worthwhile games announced? It's really telling that Nitrobikes or whatever is a big exclusive for Wii while on the other two that would be a budget title with online play.

If you consider getting Soul Calibur Legends better than getting Soul Calibur IV, the actual game because it's exclusive then we totally disagree. If I had a PS3 or 360 alone, what game would I want? The spinoff budget game or the actual sequel in the series? Same applies for Resident Evil series.

Wii is still getting the casual and spinoff focus from the big 3rd parties for the most part. More game like Zack and Wiki and other original Wii titles that aren't ports from PSP, PS2 or DS and that aren't spinoff of the actual game on other consoles are the kinds of games I consider real 3rd party support when they are investing time, money and ideas to the console.

The fact is almost every game being announced for PS3 is also coming to 360.

 Fixed.

A system is still a system. You're comparing Wii exclusives with multiplatform games on the the 360, PS3, and PC. Therefore, it's not valid proof that there is more third-party support on each individual system compared to the Wii.

Wii exclusives announced since April:

Soul Calibur Legends
Space Station Tycoon
Mario And Sonic
Nights
Rygar
Zack and Wiki
RE: UC
Rayman 2
My Word Coach
Red Steel 2
Boogie
Mysims
Smarty Pants
Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire
Crusin
Blast Works: Build, Fuse and Destroy
Trauma Center 2
Dewy's Adventure
Destroy All Humans
Big Willy Unleashed
De Blob
Medal of Honor
Furu Furu Park
Bleach
Real Heroes
Forever Blue
Geometry Wars
Chocobo Dungeons
Carnival Games
Rayman Ravind Rabbids 2
Agatha Christie
Destiny of Zorro
Dave Mirra BMX Challenge
One Piece: Unlimited Adventure
Opoona
EA Playground
Cosmic Family

And I'm sure I'm missing a great deal. If that isn't increased Wii support, I don't know what is. The Wii has seen more games announced exclusively for it in the last four months than the PS3/360/PC have had combined.

So you'd rather have Jenga because it's a Wii exclusive than let's say a big multiplatform game to play on your system?

Good 3rd party support is in the form of good games, not cash in titles which is the majority of 3rd party games. There is a reason why EA's Playground is considered a big game on Wii, if this game came out on the 360 or PS3 it wouldn't ever be noticed.

Still seems that most 3rd parties consider the Wii the system to put their low budget cash ins, most of their kids games and a port console for games previously released on PS2 and PSP.

As you can see they are all multiplatform except for Naruoto: Rise of a Ninja, Splinter Cell Conviction and the Dark Messiah PC port that are 360 exclusive.

Ok. So the problem with Wii is the lack of 3rd party support NOW, but for the "anti Wii entity" (bodhesatva, 2007) you are allowed to list games in development coming late 2008 and even early 2009. Keep up this and you may lose the respect you earned from some users.

Wii is already getting much more 3rd party support than the GameCube, which was a baren waste land when it came to 3rd party support. What I think the Wii supporters belive is that the list of supporters will grow just as the DS did. I don't think any Wii supporter (except John lucas) has said that PS3 and xbox360 will get support. On the other hand PS3 isn't getting many new 3rd party exclusive games, of course Sony can most possible start to fight that with their own developement.
