I just figured that I wouldn't really be seeing a huge jump in standings until I got platinum in both Buzz and burnout.

congrats bbsin ^^

I went down one position this week. and cool to see my brazilian friend fdmcgames in 11th! cool!

can´t wait for the EoJ trophies.

@rasone77
It's true. I got nothing on bbsin in Wipeout HD. That is an amazing achievement and definitely one of the hardest platinums to get right now. I just tried to get to zone 50 on airbrakes and I only got to 40. Zone 75? haha I still can't picture it... highest zone I ever got to was 59.

Before bbsin got the trophy I would have placed Wipeout HD up there with games like Warhawk & Pain where I don't know anyone with 100% trophies. Well, now I know 1 person!

Congratulations again bbsin!! That is 1 very hard platinum I definitely don't see myself getting.

how flattering. ^_^

I think the reason why so many people can't seem to get the majority of WipeoutHD trophies is simply because the descriptions of the trophies strike fear into the players. It's something that I and even Wipeout vets have fallen victim to some time in the past. At first, I thought all the gold trophies were impossible and even some of the silvers. Heck, just look at all my older posts about Wipeout. So instead of trying to aim for trophies specifically, I just sat down, tried to learn and adjust my eyes to the speed the game offered. As time went on, the game just got slower and slower, and the trophies began to get within reach.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if a wipeout noob (like me) can have the patience to overcome the massive learning curve. The platinum becomes somewhat reasonable.

HideoK: Man, if you can get to zone 40 with only airbrakes and 60 on normal, you definitely could get airbraker and zone zues. I'd say the only thing in your way of getting WipeoutHD platinum is the time it takes to get the damn arcade/campaign elite trophies.

Yeah that's why I've enjoyed it so much, you're all the time achieving things you once thought were impossible. I got the Zico trophy yesterday, scraping in at 30.78. It's great to finally nail it.

But after all this effort I may not get the Platinum anyway since Zone Mode has been making me ill. I got to 70 again the last time I tried but when I got up from playing I felt so terrible I've resolved to take a break for about a week. If it continues to make me ill then I suppose I won't be going into Zone anymore. It's so frustrating it's killing me, I'm so close.

Man, If i had a choice between not falling ill vs conquering those last 5 zones standing in the way of WipeoutHD platinum... I'd choose the later. You'd have to be crazy to quit now, just take a break(s) and stay calm. That's what I did for zonezues.

Grats to everyone !
That lack of eyetoy is costing me 3 spots and 1 platinum, grrrrrr

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

It's cool to enter in the top 50^^

But now it's gonna pretty calm for me, I only have 4 trophies left for uncharted and 2 to for buzz...

I bet you did zone 75 with airbrakes only nope ?

I know the best I got to with airbrakes only was zone 44 and after a while I found it easier to only use airbrake ( for Anulpha Pass that is).

Patience is not the only issue with that game. Personally I found that long sessions of Wipeout made me more tired than others games and that the game was way too frustrating for my taste...

Well I agree, that's why I'm going back to it at all.

In the meantime Bioshock releases here on Friday. I've never played it before but the demo looks good, so that will be my next Platinum hunt.
