What does release day matter?  You can price match Amazon at Best Buy now (unless that was only a holiday season thing), and price matching can be done for 30 days (or 60 for silver members like us).

I preordered AC3, got the $20 bonus from Best Buy, and price matched $10 off from another store's ad a week later with no issue.

That's kinda stupid from Best Buy.. They going to end up selling stuff at a loss with 60 days price match..

I don't buy anything from Best Buy anymore so I'm  going to loose my silver at some point...

All my stuff comes from Amazon these days...( I've started to read a lot of graphic novels and they are quite competitive in that field too).

Basically I buy graphic novels with deep discount on Amazon and those with low discount at my local comic store to support it... ( just got Watchmen paperback for 5.41$ + tax on Amazon, pretty good for 420 pages of the best comic book ever written.( it was a used like new of Amazon marketplace, to be truth it should have be graded very fine but still very good quality with no crease in the binding..).

There are comics sites with deeper discounts but they only work of pre-orders and they want you to make those 2 months in advance ( and when you add shipping you have to do bulk order for it to be cheaper).

 

 

By the way, just got Games of Thrones season 2 Blu Ray + digital code for 29.99$ on Amazon...



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Thanks for the update Arc. I haven't really been keeping track and I was curious to see how my Vita has effected my trophy hunting and after checking I have to say I'm quite surprised. Since I got my Vita back in early November I've earned 490 trophy points. Of those 490, 282 have been from my Vita.

Yeah that damned zombie explosive trophy took me about 10-15 hours to get and definitely needed constant teamwork. Three even more annoying things about that trophy was 1) you didn't always get the crossbolt gun from the chests so I would restart if it wasn't in the first 3 chests. And 2) You had to get the expensive upgrade for it. And 3) I once shot it into a friends back and he walked forward into 5 zombies but we didn't get it because his back stopped the explosive damage and only the zombies on the sides of him died, not the ones in front. So the 2nd time I shot the bolt into his chest so he could walk forward and take them out in front of him.

I haven't been finding many good game deals on Amazon lately as I used to.  The Best Buy Gamer Club $20 thing for new releases is a better deal, but since I don't buy new stuff that's not a huge deal, but between @gamer coupons and other random deals, Amazon hasn't been doing much to compete.  Hell, for Black Friday, all they could manage was to match other retailer pricing (which was convenient for some things, of course).

FWIW I got Game of Thrones S1 last year based on everyones recommendations, hated it and sold it for more than I paid for it.

Also thought I'd comment on Crysis 3 since it's been getting mixed reviews. I hear the campaign is short, only like 6 hours across 7 chapters. I played one chapter last night and then jumped into the multiplayer right away and I'm finding it just as fun as Crysis 2's MP was. The addition of the predator bow made the first single player level I tried great as well. I just had a hard time not getting seen during a few checkpoints because I'm playing on the hardest difficulty first and enemies are far too aware of your presence.

Heretic ! Not liking Game of Thrones !!!

Well these days I get most of my games new for around 35-40$ on Amazon, I just wait that they have been released for 1 month or so and then the price drops. I have a big enough backlog that the wait isn't a problem.  

I quit Best Buy the day Amazon sent me a better credit card than the Best Buy one and I don't like how they started charging for the Gamer's club . Plus generally the stock at my local Best Buy has become terrible...

 

Anyway in the end I don't pay for any games as I use my reward on them and I have more than enough to cover my gaming needs  and still have leftover on the side for graphic novels or others purchases...( my comics/graphic novels budget is a lot bigger than my gaming one these days...)
