I've never been fond of prequels but it should still be good.

Should be another easy platinum

More than likely. If the current trend is anything to go by.

What is the process of updating the charts? just wondering cause it seems like hard work, do you need to search up every single individual person 0.o ?

i too, wonder about this... do you have a API to get the info and some scripts to include the new info in some kind of DB that after this output the info we see in the updates?

Proudest Platinums - BF: Bad Company, Killzone 2 , Battlefield 3 and GTA4

it does seem like alot of work tracking people who might not be around anymore, good work from arc, doesn't anyone else want a separate vita section or you want everyhing bundle together

All the vita trophies get combined into your overall trophy profile, so it would be a lot more work to find & take everything out that is vita trophies to make it seperate.

So what happens with games like Motorstorm RC, it counts as two platinums on mygamercards but there was only one completion done to get platinum.

I count it as one platinum for the platinum leaderboard. The main leaderboard, however, reflects your overall trophy count. And it looks like Motorstorm RC is counted twice there (one for PS3 & one for Vita).

It takes about 2 1/2 hours each week to update the charts and leaderboards. It's a fairly low tech process. I start by logging into the two vgchartz PSN accounts on http://us.playstation.com/. From there I can view the friends list and everyone's trophy count. I go through, one-on-one, and manually record everyone's trophy count. I'm then able to compare it to last week's update, and can see who has earned new platinum trophies. I then log into the two vgchartz PSN accounts on my PS3 to see which new platinum trophies people have earned. I'm not able to check this via http://us.playstation.com/ since there are large gaps in trophy information for some reason.

All of this captured information is stored in a database. I've written some basic code in Excel to read the database and spit out the various leaderboards and charts. From there, it's a cut and paste job onto this site.

I used to have an aswesome script that FadetoOne developed for me that would scrape everyone's trophy count from the playstation website. Unfortunately, Sony kept re-working there sites and the scripts would no longer work.

You are truly the hero VGChartz deserves, Arcturus.

Yeah, there's gotta be some better way to automate it again.  If Raptr and those kinds of sites can pull info, there must be a way.

How do the gamercards sites grab the data?

I think they scrape it from uk.playstation.com using scripts they've built.

Here's to the Arc. We're all much obliged.

Maybe change the league to top 100 also, could save some time :)
