You'll keep everything from a data transfer, and almost nothing from a backup and swap.

The problem will be if you want to keep the 500 GB drive and don't have another drive that it can fit on in the interim.

so i should be OK?  my main concern was that after i did the transfer i wouldnt be able to back up the transferred data to change hard drives.  it seems most of the games i am in the process of playing are copy protected lol

with the free space thing i went and delete pretty much all the game data that i wasnt playing and all the DLC and stuff and will just redownload later

Yeah, if you transfer it to the new PS3, you can then back up from there and swap the drives like you would otherwise.

I made a huge mess of things when I got my new PS3, so I know what I'm talking about, haha.

if you have PSN you can use online saves to transfer copy protected games



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

Hmmm I'm pretty sure there was a way to lock onto one enemy, but I just mostly used the analog sticks to aim my attacks so that I could quickly switch to another enemy. What part is chapter 6 again? I do remember fleeing from one group of enemies to reach a new checkpoint along the side of a cliff. It seemed like it was a never ending wave of enemies. Maybe ch. 6 when i was trying to catch up with Trip after she went ahead on the zip line. Otherwise the rest of the game wasn't too difficult and I started on the hardest setting. Upgrading your stun and blast guns really was helpful.

I finally figured it out, it was incredibly painful but I had to defend instead of attacking, which completely subverted the game for me but ho-hum! Done is done!



PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

not sure if i have the best purchase timing or the worst luck, buy the new ps3 slim, get it set up to do the data transfer from my old 40GB ps3, turn on the old PS3 and YLOD....fuck me lol  there goes all my copy righted saves.  good thing i backed my old system up last week so at least those non copy right saves are up to date

Im having so much fun with Bad Company 2 online (specially since Im playing with a clan of brazilians who kick ass) that I have no intention of getting Modern Warfare 3.

I gave up at that portion. I just didn't have the motivation after being let down by the single player.

Currently doing some Sonic the Hedgehog trophies for the classic Gnesis games. So far Sonic 1 is a SHIT port on the PS3. Seems like a 1 second lag in between jumping commands.

Wow.  It's a pretty easy fix though, if you know someone who has a heat gun.

Wow.  It's a pretty easy fix though, if you know someone who has a heat gun.


yeah i have watched a few vids on youtube and it doesnt look that difficult, dont know anyone with a heat gun though.  might have to pick one up
