Forums - Sony Discussion - New PS2 in the US -- been a while, or have I just missed it?

I spotted the new built-in-powerbrick model of PS2 at the local Target today.  It was silver, lacking the midbar (with the "PS2" logo engraved in it, between the DVD flip-cover and the rest of the machine), and still priced at $129.99 USD.

I'm surprised I hadn't heard anything about it... although admittedly this is not big news, since the same model has been in Japan for nearly a year.  Supposedly, it weighs considerably less than the older slimline + powerbrick, and just a tad more than the old slimline without its powerbrick, and its just a tiny bit smaller (essentially missing the 1cm or so of width that the old midline "bar" represented).

Have these been out a while, or are they new for the Holidays in the US?  Maybe a PS2 price cut will accompany them as well? (I'm thinking $109.99 USD would be tantalizing to anyone who didn't already own a PS2 or a slimline)

I haven't seen any SCPH-9000 models around. I know they are in Japan.
