"I thought LBP was massive and Fable 2 was not! :/ Explain this to me!"

from when LBP was massive ?

if M$ was successful of making Galo sell 4134 million u think it cant over hype Gable 2?

Im quoting this because calling something "Gay" is discrimination and is just as bad any racial slur.

It seems while the PS3 does cure cancer it can't stop discrimination.

where is the discrimination? seems you both read what you want and jump to conclusion. if you were referring to the term "galo" well thats just a type of language spoken in west siang. and this "gable" is just the triangular portion of a wall between the edges of a sloping roof. why he would reference those terms in his post....well beats me, but definetly not discrimination of any sort

I still dont understand what will make LBP sell millions like people predict. I do not doubt that it will be a good game but there are some people expecting it to sell 5 million copies when the userbase is about 15 million, and on top of that PS3 doesnt have that good of an attach ratio (at least last time I checked). Not to mention that it is a platformer and we know how popular that genre is right now. And I cant help but think that Spore might steal quite a bit of "casual" sales.

Fable 2 on the other hand is a sequel and the first game sold quite a bit, so there is a more or less established fanbase. It has hype behind it and 360 gamers buy a lot of games.
I am prepared to eat crow if I am wrong, but I am definitely looking forward to some meltdowns.

PC, XBox 360, Wii, PS2, DS, PS3

Squill, its a tiny market. I could Post up numbers from the Czech Republic or Belarus that paint some random stupid game as bigger than major releases. Doesnt mean that trend will follow in the rest of the world.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

1. Fable is now an established franchise from a legendary designer, with a built in audience. LBP is a new franchise that few people have had a chance to try, thus initial wariness is justified

2. Fable is an RPG and RPG's make up a sizable niche of console gaming. LBP is a 2D platformer, which in today's market is a very small niche.

3. The 360's audience is still substanially larger than the PS3s.

4. Sony's base has been built around the "anti-kiddie" image. LBP's image is anathema to much of that base.

Are you sure you arent confusing Sony with Microsoft? Because I would think the console most asscociated with Shooters like Halo and Call of Duty and Gears of War is a little more anti-kiddy than the one with a major kid-esque title (ratchet and clank).

Plus I have yet to hear racial slurs and be called a f*g on PSN. :P

I would stay to argue you, but Ive seen your opinions on the PS3 and it would be pointless.

What makes me laugh is that people call LBP casual and the best part of that game is the terrain manipulation and level creator. As for Fable 2... one button controls combat... my mom could sit down and play this and enjoy the story line... imagine that... a story line... who would have thought that it would sell games.

Personally I want to play both of these games, but I doubt that LBP sells like Fable 2 does.

those statistics will be totally irelevent to both games actual sales.. i think squilliam just wants LBP to bomb or sumthing

Respect for compans: SONY > NINTENDO >>>>>>>>>> MICROSOFT

squlliam ! dude.

Look.
Little big planet is the type of game where most people will buy it in stores. "Casuals" barely ever preorder, neither does kids. Since this game is all around it's not unexpected that it would have a lower preorder ratio.
This is while fable 2 is much more likely to get preorders as the consumers who would get it are "hardcore gamers."

Check out my game about moles ^

Wait wait wait... so when it comes to Nintendo consoles, kids, and casuals are a bad thing? But when LBP is involved... it's a great thing? I don't get all these comments from a lot of people that say kids and casuals are a bad thing, which apparently to most of these same posters the PS3 is the hardcore gamers console which would mean kids and casuals are not on the PS3 and therefore LBP will not sell since it's a casual game.

So by most posters logic and Squilliams numbers he could be onto something, IE Fable 2 could outsell LBP

PS: Before anyone busts my balls for the above comments, it's the truth, but I'm getting LBP when I get my PS3 and I didn't like Fable 1 when I played it on my PC.

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

Fable II has a lot more anticipation than LBP.
LBP will also be a PSN download, saving you the 20 bucks for a blu-ray disc.
I guess a lot of PS3 owners are afraid of seeming 'casual' by buying LBP. They'll get it when it comes out and they see the awesome scores.
