Maxconsole.com isn't a very reliable source of information. In other words it is a rumors collector =)
Well, a strategy that I think would do amazing is have core, bundled with halo 3 and a memory card for 249.99
Then have halo3 maps be hard drive required, so they'd make a ton on hard drive sales later.
It'll never happen but I think it'd do amazing.

Well, if they are already in store an produced, you most likley sell them. Or do you think, microsoft will throw them away? These units don't go away, so drop the price if you produce new ones. Drop it know and you may be sell a lot more know and have to produce more of the shitty ones.

I don´t get how any body could see a Core with a memorycard for 200-250$ as a bad thing, this would just be fantstic for MS, if I could play blue Dagon Halo3 and Gta4 I wouldn´t care about a hard drive, this (real) pricedrop (I know some of you don´t agree) would force Sony to do something drastic real fast, with the better but cheaper to make Falkon I could see this coming soon, maybe not august but perhaps thanksgiving.
I know I sound like a broken record but Sony really needs to get a PS3 under 400$ on the market and it would be better to do so before this happens than after.

A few months back we were told they were making money on the core systems, and close to being in the black on the premiums. No idea about the elites (which hadn't launched yet), and I doubt this included the losses due to malfunctions.
I don't think it would be smart to bundle the core with memcard. It's great for consumers. They can save there progress and don't need a HD. No HD means no Xbox LIVE. MS wants everyone to jump in.
I hope they throw the core away and make Premium $300.
