Weekly European data only goes back to late 2004.  Additionally, the data included in the weekly European data is only PS3, Wii, 360, DS & PSP.

So yes, PS3 worldwide is selling as well as PS2..in two regions..

What it looks like is the PS2 launch was indicative of it's eventual success, while the PS3 launch was Sony's momentum carrying over, then crashing against the $600 barrier.  $600 is alot.  I worked 4 weeks at minimum wage over the summer, and with the money I made I still can't afford a PS3 it is no surprise sales rates have dropped regardless of what you think of the content.

I seem to recall a half year European launch that just occured a few months ago.

In any case, I am only pointing out facts. I am not trying to say that the PS3 is tanking nor am I trying to say its better than other systems.

I simply want all gamers to unite and be happy that the video game crash in the 80's didn't kill our enjoyment.

Also the charts don't show the production problems and lack of supply.

Sorry, I did not realize this topic came up every week. However, I do agree that $600 is alot of money and I certainly can't afford one therefore I agree with The sources opinion on the matter.

You guys need to look at the hardware shipped page...

PS2 has shipped 117 million consoles.  Real world sales are likely almost the same since that figure was from March.  Don't you think there is a rather large discrepency between sales under 70 million on the graphic and 117 million?  Companies fudge shipment data, but not to a degree that accounts for 40 million units...
