Yeah, a game that's not even out yet made #4 on their list?  That's when I realized this list was a complete joke.

But the best part was when it turned out that Crisis Core got picked because the author interviewed some Aeris fetishist who got quoted saying the death scene was the saddest moment of his extremely sad life.  I stopped after that because I knew nothing else could top that.

And now I've read the list. And we have another case of people on internet forums overreacting to problems that aren't even there.

Someone on the internet made a list of great game selections for current games.

You all seem angry because

A) this list of currently available games only includes currently available games,

B) this person isn't a Mother's basement dwelling nerd. So they enjoy Uno and Peggle, a lot of people do. And like I said, Wii Sports is the greatest game of this generation, even though

C) The list is not in order, because as has been pointed out, this is a list of suggestions, not a ranking attempt.

So put down your hate fellow gamers, embrace a list of fun games which are fun. Because that's much more fun.

This is worst list ever...

This's a list made for and by people that don't care much about games, they're not core fans, they don't spend a lot of money on games, they only see this as a nice pastime. I think that i'ts interesting to check the percpetion of the normal people about videogames, we need to realize that it's complety different from our perception

If anyone thinks this is an all-time list, they are mistaken.
This is a list of what is out there right now that they feel is worth getting.
It also appears to be in random order. And it leaves a lot of stuff out (e.g., no SSBB on Wii -- but it has Zelda: TP).

Finally, it's about time this started happening, expanded audience news sources reporting games for the expanded audience w/o Nintendo slapped all over it. ^_^ Good stuff, I'm happy they added some of the hardcore games on that list as well, it's the Top 50 games (to buy) list not the Best games ever list.

Power to the "casuals". =P Honestly the gaming industry needs more outlets like this, we can't go on with having gaming information only appear in gaming magazines for gamers, I want to see a steady stream of top 10 new games and top games to buy lists this week when I open the New York Times in the gaming section.

I was just having a quick look through the list, and when I got to CoD 4, they really showed how much effort they had put into this with a photo of a WW2 soldier with a flamethrower!
