Forums - Gaming Discussion - if you had a 360 and it got the RROD for the 3rd time

halil23 said:

Did you read the OT. It did not have an option for repair, so assuming the rrod is out of warranty.

BTW, I'm not insulting anybody. I'm just helping people open up their mind, like example...YOU!

So you are saying this scenario would take over 9 years to unfold? You said "keep buying them," which implies that I have had to buy one after every RRoD. For that sentence to be right I would have had to buy at least 2 before the most recent one would need to be replaced meaning it takes 6 years. If not then I guess this happens 3 years in the future from now? The scenario laid out is not a real life scenario anyways. I could buy an Arcade and pop in the HDD from the last system and have a system as reliable as a newly bought Elite. Perhaps you should open your mind a bit.

I don't know how you are trying to open my mind though. You say I should ditch a system that could potentially break and buy a different system that has almost no games I would enjoy playing and I am the one not being open minded? When the PS3 gets Culdcept, Ikaruga, and Dead Rising I might reconsider, but currently those are the games I am most in love with. Further there is another Treasure game coming exclusively to the 360 which I am certain I will love. When you open your mind up and start to consider how other peoples gaming tastes differ from yours you will understand why you are acting foolishly and being insulting (although very mildly).

Why buy a PS3?

It has 1/3 the AAA titles...........

Ok this is getting bloody old!

Since you using metacritic and or gamerankings as a source.

Obviously we all know that American reviewers are bias toward xbox360 more than PS3 & Wii due to xbox being an American product and the fact that metacritic and gamerankings don't collect Japanese scores! And yes Japanese would do the same thing what American doing to their beloved one (xbox)

Let just assume metacritic and gamerankings just had Euro scores, which would be fair as they have don't have their own console. What the chance of xbox360 AAA quantity, < 5 likely, while PS3 & wii would have easily double of what they currently have! Or another way, put Japanese score in and the results would of been the same as having just Euro alone!!

starcraft the master of spinning words.....always!

BTW, I don't understand why metacritic and gamerankings wouldn't collect Japanese scores. It not like it need to be English in order to be entitle on the database, what wrong with just getting their number scores, cause I think it really unfair.

How many million sellers does PS3 have again??? 360 has 43 not including XBLA games. LOL last time I checked PS3 has mainly ports from 360 games and games that came out for the 360 a month before coming to Japan so I doubt they have good reviews there. Also how many RPG's does PS3? Starcraft is correct and no spinning is involved for you to be proven wrong.

You do realize that reviewers have big impact on sales right, along with advertising of course!
So duh! American reviewers helps xbox sales.

BTW since your new here, do you happen to be starcraft alt account!

And European and Japanese reviewers help PS3 sales but still it doesn't seem to be helping. Looks like another casulty of Sony Selective Memory Syndrome.

Like some have said, If you have built up a really good library of games for the 360 is it really the end of the world if you have to go without it for a mere 2 weeks whilst it gets repaired for FREE? And as i said before, the amount of cases where peoples ps2's would stop working just out of warranty were astonishing (leading to you having to BUY a new ps2 cos sony couldn't give a sh*t) but people still went out and bought a 2nd or 3rd ps2 due to liking the machine, Maybe a lot of us still dont think that the ps3 is a justified purchase due to the price and the fact that most of the best games are multiplat now anyway

buying a PS3 isnt an option really as, fact of the matter is theres still FAR less good games for it. Send the 360 back, sell the replacement on ebay and buy one of the newer, lower power HDMI machines. I KNOW the problem isnt resolved before all the PS3 fans start crying, but they are more reliable. Dont think an Elite will be any more relaibe, its not an upgrade, its just packaged differently, buy a core and use your existing HDD and cables and sell the new cables with the old machine.

This is what I did, I also have a PS3 which ofcourse hasnt broken down yet, but thats probably because I cant find it under its layer of dust.

Simple really make sure you get the 175w cool and quite Falcon model not the old discontinued models.

And shouldn't you be asking "if you had a 360 or a PS3 and it went wrong for the 3rd time ?
To stop you just causing a fanboy argument

We all know the latest 175w 360 has no more problems than the PS3, just Google and see how many people are saying their PS3 has developed faults and are asking how they go about getting it repaired etc

"Oooh the PrayStation3 is soo great, I'm glad I Bought it after 567987234923 RROD with SBOX567 sorry, my XBOX360 or something". It was soooo stuuupid not doing it earlier !! I didn't realize that this expensive Blue-Ray player could actually play some games !

Bunch of desperate liers throwing some PS3 propaganda.

(Man I'm so tired this morning, I can't answer calmly to the usual sh*it of the lifeless fanboys league.)

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

I'd get it repaired.

Seriously, if I've already bought a X360, I should feel that it was better in the first place, right? Well, the Ps3 hasn't really been catching up in library, and it costs around twice the price I paid for the X360 in the first place.

If it is out of warranty, I have an issue, and I'll need to think through some more. Still, as I already own a dvd player (amazing, huh?), my initial thought is that the Ps3 has far less value for me than an X360 would have.

Other than that, I might run off the two main options, and keep playing on my PC, while trying to get some cable to make it show up on the TV.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

If my 360 would rrod now, I would send it back to be fixed and buy another 360 so I would not have to wait.

I had a 360 with an older (2006) manufacture date, and I was interested in a newer hardware rev. When the 60GB model was introduced, a local retailer was clearing out their 20GB stock at $199.99 including two free games. I purchased a new HDMI-equipped 20GB, got the two free games, exchanged one for $50 and will sell the other for ~$30, and will also sell the original console for $150. Bang, console with new hardware rev and brand new warranty, and a net gain of ~$30 on the scenario.

what would u do if you wanted it for HD Gaming

1 would u upgrade to an elite 360

or

2 would you get a ps3D

You could always buy a second 360,Luckily I have not had this issue but we have 2 360's in the family.  If I honestly got three RROD I think I would buy a PS3 just out of spite

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game
