#1 and #2 are must buys.

Other than that, I'd throw in Heavenly Sword. It's a great game, albeit very short. Once it drops to $30, I'd definitely pick it up.

Yep, can't pass up that deal. Also consider SOCOM, Singstar, Oblivion, Buzz, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2, LBP, GTA4, HSG5, COD4, Wipeout HD and others.
For PSP consider GoW COO, MGSPO, FFT, CCFF, Castlevania, Ratchet, SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 1 and 2 and Tactical, Syphon Filter 1 and 2, GTA LCS and VCS, Wipeout Pure and Pulse, HSGP1 and 2 and others.

Resistance 1 is overrated, IMO - look into Call of Duty 4(*!!*) or maybe Resistance 2 instead. CoD4 will likely be better than CoD5, so don't worry about the sequel making it obselete (unless you're into WWII).

Also, just a warning about Warhawk - it's a bit hardcore I think, kinda unfriendly to noobs. Youtube it or something and make sure it's something you're interested in before buying.

All other games seem to have been covered by everyone... Anyway, Enjoy the PS3!

You can only play one system at a time, and one game at a time. Different strokes and all that. In the past I owned multiple systems. Now I just have one. OT Congrats. There are a load of great games out already, and this holiday season is going to be huge.

 

That makes no sense.... that's like saying it was pointless for me to have my PS2 and Xbox because my PS2 played all my JRPGs and my Xbox had my FPSes and WRPGs... both consoles have exclusive games that rock... giving up one for the other doesn't give you anything.

Trading in a console is a silly move. Game stores give you next to nothing for trading in games and consoles. Remember game stores have businesses to run and they make a lot of money from people trading in games and consoles which their parents spent lots of money on.
On the other hand buying second hand games is a good thing you get a bargain.

I hope you have fun with your new PS3 console.

BTW: How many games with your X360 did you have to trade in?

I have traded in consoles in the past to game stores and I totally regretted doing it. So now on I do not trade in games and consoles to game stores. EBay and Craigs List are better places where you can sell unwanted goods to consumers at a higher price.
I do buy second hand games from game stores they are a lot cheaper and games end up second hand half price of full retail price, three months from release these days.
