Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Putting tired complaints to rest: Nintendo and the core gamer.

This thread has gone nowhere, I'm just gonna close it.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Around the Network

So let me get this straight, Nintendo announces sequels to every game that sold well on the Gamecube, and you say they are not anouncing enough new IPs.

Not 5 minutes later, you say "What's Nintendo going to make after all their old game sequels?" Didn't you just answer your own question?

Argh! you know, My job as a mod would be a lot easier if I didn't always feel like this was a daycare centre!

Alright. cklmb, Avalach21, Ssj12, Z64dan, carlos710 and anyone else turning this thread in to trolling and personal attacks seriously needs a time out! Next person to post inflammatory or personal posts in this thread will have that post re-written by me!

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Making the argument that nintendo isn't focused on the hardcore gamers don't effect the sales. the whole reason the sales are high is a big part of the causal market. sales will be fine its the type of games you will get due to trends is what disturbing. I plan on getting a wii when i find one for metriod 3 a hardcore game. Its that there wont be as many hardcore games showing up on the wii dispite the great sales.

"Core" gamer was a term Nintendo initially used (mainly) to reference the 'Hard-Core' gamers ...

The types of things a "Core" gamer does is play a lot of videogames, understand the technologies behind games, talk about games (online), care about the sales of games and game systems, and discuss whether graphics really matter ... It (in reality) has very little to do with genre.

People complaining about Nintendo not making enough games to satisfy their needs for a particular genre are the most annoying people around. They complain that "Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bio Shock, Killzone 2, and Unreal Tournament 3" are all being released this year and Nintendo needs to answer it; if you're complaining about this odds are that you already have the systems needed to play these games so play these games and then we'll see about whether Nintendo should make a game for you. No game company can make every game in their library every year; any attempt to create many of these games will result in lower quality games and lower sales.
