being honest here I usually buy a nintendo console primarily for games like Zelda, Mario Kart, Mario, Donkey Kong, Smash Brothers as each sequel is usually better than its predecessor.

Of course tho there is the new original franchises that get created.

i.e N64 we had Smash Brothers and Mario Party was born then also not that I played any of em beyond the 2nd version since I thought it was to similar to the first one.

What about HEavenly Sword, Uncharted, Motorstorm, Resistance, Infamous...

 What about Wii Sport, disaster and excite truck (sorry for the late answer I went to bed). The thing is still that this isn't what we are discussing nor the argument from the start. You and ckmlb is changing argument from: Nintendo isn't doing any hardcore games too Nintendo isn't doing any new franchises. It is anoying because when we showed that we got the usual hardcore games from Nintendo, you started to bitch about this. Just confess that you lost the arguement that we started. Then you can start a new thread about which franchises Nintendo should do.

Bump, as I also would like to see ckmlb's response to robjoh's earlier post, seems kind of immature to run away from a thread when your arguments have been challenged.

Why are people combining the list of GBA, DS and Wii games together to justify that Nintendo is still making traditional games.

The argument is that they are shifting focus on the Wii to non traditional games. So far there are two new franchises announced on consoles for this gen and 1 of them is possibly cancelled.

Isn't this the whole point? That Nintendo is still making the same amount of core games? If Nintendo released core games year A is equal to year B in which way are they leaving the core gamers behind?

Why are you so keen to answer questions that are obviously flaming and don't actually forward the argument at hand in any way but not an on-topic one like robjoh's? I think you know that the facts show a conclusion you don't want to accept and so have gone into full-on smokescreen mode. Please prove me wrong.
