Forums - Gaming Discussion - Deadly Creatures is looking better and better

I'm still afraid this game might get have trouble finding an audience. But if it does have such trouble, it won't be for lack of effort on the dev's part.

I think for this game it would be much better on the HD consoles, i dont think the wiimote can do much for it and it would be so awesome to see alot of detail on the objects opposed to smudg.

Edit: still looks to be a pretty fun game. Thought I think Mushroom Men is more promising.

The graphics do not strike me as poor, they may not be Uncharted or Gears of War but they are nice.  There is some usage of wii specific features, IR targeting for long range jump attacks and such and some limited gestures.  You could do that on a normal controller with sticks and buttons instead, not as well in my opinion, but the real problem with making this game would probably be funding.  Selling the game idea is probably a lot easier on a Wii budget than on an HD budget.  It is just to unconventional I would think for $20 million.

for the first point, what I've seen so far of the combat is pretty promising from a Motion perspective, so I don't think the Wii's a bad platform for it at all.

As for your edit. Based on nothing more than personal opinion and a hunch, I disagree. I think Mushroom men is really going to get lost in the shuffle.

Looks interesting for sure, has a lot of effort being put into it, but still the textures are putting me off in this game... it was better on GC @_@ it shouldn't be like this on Wii, hope its just the lack of polish, I'm not one much for caring about graphics but this one could look so awesome that I really wished it would get there.

well im happy that we owners are getting more games :P
but this game obviously is the kinda game u need graphics in.
Doesnt have to be on a HD console if the developer is artistic enough to make it really look good

One of the promising third party games..

De Blob, MadWorld and Deadly Creatures are all shaping up as unique and interesting third-party efforts for the Wii, that I intend upon purchasing. Personally De Blob appeals to me the most, however the other two appear very promising and highlight that with effort and talent decent third-party games can be made for the Wii.

You would never see innovative games like this on a HD-console, because the production costs are too high there. An action game where you have to play a spider and a scorpion, and not a muscled man, on a HD console? Never would any publisher try this.
