Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Super Smash Bros. Brawl December 5?

Doesn't anyone think this is a crappy release date?

Too late in the year, missing November. I really don't like this date. I was hoping Mario in October and SSBB in November which belongs to the biggest games traditionally.

If someone attacks me for being anti Wii for this I will seriously never post anything about the Wii ever again.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Smash Bros. Dojo says it's Dec. 3, which is much earlier in the year and therefor a much better release date for the holidays.

I don't care if it's so late, I just want to go preorder it now.

it's not like, people aren't gonna buy it lol

Yeah SSBM was also released in December 3rd but it didn't stop it from being the best selling GC game.

Again, as always.... did I say it wouldn't sell? I'm just saying why not November?

I challenge you to a duel.

The answer is: Super Mario Galaxy

My guess would be because of time (completion), market (hardcore vs casual), and spacing (not having two AAA in the same month).

Mario Galaxy comes out in a more desirable time frame (November) because it will have a broader appeal and will grab a lot of casual gamers as well as the hardcore. Everybody knows who Mario is and what Mario does (squash goomba's...in bumble bee suits apparently).

Brawl is a fanboy's wet dream. Pinning up character A against character B. The hard core gamer would buy this anytime, even in December...and I doubt it will have as broad appeal to the casual gamer considering it uses four different controllers and no waving of the wand (...yet...?).

You space them out and make lots of money. I think that makes sense? Non?!

Yeah I wish Brawl was released earlier than December 3. I accually thought it would be released in September/October since Hideo Kojimi played it and thought it felt pretty complete already

You can take my word for it, some of us would be absolutely ecstatic to get our hands on Brawl in December. =P
