There´s also the metacritics problem. People go there to see the ratings and see the "professional" critics 8.6 and the users 5.2 and start to wonder. Then they look at the comments and are turned away. Most of the sale this month will be out of curiosity. Actually, I think that´s the main reason why people are pirating spore so much

Stop with that FUD crap. People who pirate the game are mostly doing it because they don't care about buying games. The difference between what the original version of Spore offers and the pirate version offers is quite big.

the game is kinda good to be honest but that video is way better then what we have been given, i mean wow after seeing that it feels like a i am playing spore 0.5

I was actually expecting a city building game... but across billions of years.

We were very focused, if anything, on making a game for more casual players. “Spore” has more depth than, let’s say, “The Sims” did. But we looked at the Metacritic scores for “Sims 2″, which was around 90, and something like “Half-Life“, which was 97, and we decided — quite a while back — that we would rather have the Metacritic and sales of “Sims 2″ than the Metacritic and sales of “Half-Life“.

Let me lie to myself and think that the game I wanted most was made uber simple because of EA, would you? And Will got it wrong, The Sims is not actually simple, it just has a simple aproach, but you can put the chalenges you want there, you are building a life, i like the Sims1 and 2, but the game I´ve seem in 2005 was a better game than Sims and a way better game that was shown 1 month before release. It needs a little work on it, yes, of course, is an alpha, but if you wanted a easier and simplified option, put it alongside with the bloddy and interesting one, but do not make it mandatory. That final version of Spore could be the Kids version, an option parents have along with a parent guide password, but the version with water phase, city phase, a more interesting tribal and civ phase. MAn, did you saw the movie? the space is awesome. That part alone brougth 3 sets of aplause and 4 or 5 ohhh and ahhh. I still will eventually try the game. Migth even like it, I have strange tastes, but I would like to see a game on the lines of the 2005 version.
maybe we´ll get that in the EXpansions.

The game's not nearly as fun as I thought it'd be. The gameplay was lacking, it wasn't as deep as I was hoping from a Will Wright game, and the only thing it really has going for it is the customization, which in the end, really gives you no added bonuses once you're at the tribal stage. All in all, a fun game that lacks some true gameplay. I'd give it a 7.5/10. :/

I really love the game, I've put alot of time into it in the past week, think it's brilliant. But the game in that video looks even better. I hope they release that sometime.
