How is it that mario games are so flipping good?

super mario bros, smb3, smw, sm64 and now this! it looks so cool and I can hardly contain myself! Its definally the game im looking forward to the most, yes even above halo 3 and metal gear solid 4.

And thinking of mario suits in it then how about samus aran suit! Imagine mario being able to roll up into a ball! ace!

Has nintendo announced the story line of the game yet? Is it the usual bowser kidnapping princess malaki?

Interesting quote from the IGN preview of the game:

"Nintendo may be reaching out to casual players and basing its new system on things like Wii Sports and Wii Fit, but the fact of the matter is that the company is still all about the gamer, and all about the games, and Super Mario Galaxy is pure living proof of that. This along with prime 3 are my most anticipated games by far..they might take 2 or 3 years to make but what the hell these are the games that most of us really want...totally in a league of their own..

As mentioned by others before, Mario Galaxy looks like Super Mario 3 meets Super Mario 64. This is the mario game I've been waiting for. Who can resist Bee Mario? Miyamoto is a genius.

Wow at the fur shading on that big arse Bee mario was crawling around on. Ben that video was awesome. Man. If the games can get up to THAT quality, then the Wii wont have any trouble surviving the graphical gap this gen.
