They never said they would be exactly the same. The last article I read on the subject said they trying to figure out how to compress the audio and cut scenes so that they could get them onto dvds. And dvd cutscenes and audio just don't match hd Blu-Ray video and audio.

Maybe but do you really expect the dvd of The Dark Knight to have the same audio and visual clarity as the Blu-Ray version? It will be much the same with Final Fantasy XIII. The actual gameplay segments might be identical. But the cinematic parts which are the most important parts of an FF game will not be.



My most anticipated games:  Whatever Hideo Kojima is going to do next, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake, Wii Sports Resort.  Cave Story Wiiware.

How do we know if a Sony monopoly would be any different from a MS one? You don't think Sony has tried to get a monopoly going? If you believe that than you closed your eyes to the last generation where Sony practically genocided Sega. People say it was pirating but really most of the damage was Sony. So far the latest one to draw blood is Sony, and to me it's clear Sony wants everyone else out. Microsoft so far hasn't shown me the same, they just want Sony out. Personally I don't want either of them out. But really any of you that think you are making a better choice by wanting the other one out are just trying to choose between two evils.

I think Sony's coming out with a $600.00 console showed us a glimpse of what they would do as a monopoly. MS we know what they would do..

I honestly think that Microsoft is willing to lose more money than that, especially if you start looking at the operating income of their other departments that depend on Windows.
