his fault had unfair advantage

I have found it really funny how the British press have spun this. There was very little mention of the fact that it was a mistake by Raikonen, and that he should of won, but every story was filled with fantastic race by Lewis... bla bla bla.... and he never did anything wrong. Sometimes it is nice to have some healthy bias, but this is twenty steps too far

To be fair the driving he pulled off in the last 2 laps was fantastic.

Spa is one of the best - if not the best - racing courses in the world. It's my favourite at least.

Hamilton was the winner for me and he deserved to win. What a shame.

Advantage is a moot point given that Kimi then proceeded to crash.

I fail to see how he had an advantage. He passes the Bus Stop before Kimi, so he lets Kimi pass. To do that, he has to reduce his speed, so Kimi is going faster than him (that's why they showed he crossed the finish line 6 km/h slower than Kimi) and passes him. Lewis then puts himself fully behind Kimi, Kimi takes La Source very wide, and and Lewis passes him from the inside (and then Kimi hits him, but nobody says it). If anything, it was Kimi's fault for not taking advantage of the fact that he was going faster

Just to add that Mclaren can't appeal a drivethrough penalty, which this was.

Yes, they can if the penalty was imposed in the last 5 laps of the race.

You can appeal to have a time penalty after the race instead of a drivethrough, but not to have it overturned.

No, the rule clearly states that if the penalty is commited in the last 5 laps, instead of being given a drive-through the driver is charged with 25 seconds, and is possible to appeal it. And I hope the appeal is succesful, this stupid decision shouldn't tarnish this excellent championship, even Niki Lauda called it "the worst judgement in the history of F1 "

Of course its possible to appeal against it. Otherwise McClaren wouldnt be...appealling against it.....

Didn't stop them in Brazil last year.

@zexen

The problem is that had Lewis not cut the corner he would not have been close enough to pass into La Source. He should have backed off and got a tow through Eau Rouge like Kimi did earlier in the race.

Why did he deserve to win? Kimi deserved to win! He led from the 2nd lap!

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Because he was right behind him after that corner. He mucked it up, and did not suffer because of it

So he had an 'advantage' because he wasn't disadvantaged?

If he had not cut that corner, he would have been a significant distance behind Raikonen, because he made a mistake. However, cutting that corner allowed to him to immediately get another crack at the nut
