i'm not referring to how good or bad either of them are and talking about the fact that the DS is a handheld console and the fact that the  PS2 is a home console , different price points , target markets etc etc.

Yes but as for the saturation I think it will slow down again until a huge game comes out. It will probably reach 25million in Japan though.  

 

 DQIX should bring it up again in Japan,I doubt we will see a new Nintendo hand-held soon there.

what are the next big japanesse games for DS? id say in the west its GTA but itll be different in Japan. im guessing dragom quest?

If DS sells as long as GBA, 150M+ sales are almost guaranteed. Hell, I think it even has a small shot at the 200M if it takes like 7-10 more years before DS2 comes out.

Diferent target markets...? well... that I don't know. Both have games for kids, casual gamers, JRPG fans, hardcore gamers, artstyle and innovation enthusiaists... you are right on the other points though.

These days we should talk about the games. What market they are targeting. Not the machines as they are intended for everyone from the start.
