The 5 Blu Ray deal is for all PS3s everywhere till September I think, it's not just for Circuit City.

My window prediction is 50-75% increase in sales if there is no 360 price drop this week. If there is then it's 25-50% increase.

I didn't get 5 BDs, that's BS. Did you?

I got $70 in rebates though, not too shabby!

When did you buy the ps3? If it was last week or today then you should have talked to the guy that sold it to you about the offer.

I remember when we used to think Amazon counted. Those were the days.

Well actually Luminees was in the top 5 for 4 hours and it ended up selling more then 3,000 copy's so if it stays in the top ten for a while you never know.

You will always get an immediate sales spike which is followed by a return to more 'normal' sales for a product after a price cut. With how 'small' the PS3's price cut was, and that it is still a very expensive system, I expect that sales will not have improved that much a couple of weeks from now ...

You've said precisely same thing about PSP's price drop... Hmm, PSP still sells better...

If you bought the PS3 after 7/1 in the U.S, you can get your movies in the mail through the form on this site:

Enjoy!

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.

VGChartz Resident Thread Killer

Initial sales boost: 30% to 50%

Weekly sales boost (after the first 2 weeks): 10% to 20%

Momento after being paired with the PS3 for free jumped up 28,000% in sales, hahah. This system must be looking at hour by hour sales. They should make it at least weekly.

Is it?

PSP sales for the week of April 29th (this is before the price drop):

130,82320,691,834

PSP sales for July 1st:

145,58322,018,924

PSP sales for June 24th:

135,02321,873,341

As you can see, since the price drop the sales boost ranges from 4% to 11%, a very small small increase for a nearly 1/6th price sales drop.  Hrmm, interesting.  Look at the PS3 now.  I'd say I'm being VERY generous giving them a 10% to 20% sales boost lifetime for a 1/6th price drop to $500.  I should probably re-adjust my estimate lower truthfully, but I'll stick with it.  I have faith that it will help some.
