why does it matter how many millions this game will sell? its looks like a great game with a great direction, so if your personal experience with is a good one why does it matter if it will be huge or not.

It sounds like you're on the wrong site.

-_- so you're saying if lbp doesnt sell 5 million its trash then? but if you missed the point, i am not saying sales dont matter because delvopers have to make income. but saying lbp sold 2million it bombed(not reffering to you directly)

For me below 1.5 mil is a failure, since Sony is marketing this thing like crazy. Above 2mil is disappointing, above 3 mil is a success, 4 mil and above is system seller.

Nobody can truly gauge the potential of a game like LBP.

I agree with Bleu-Ocelot , we have next to nothing to compare LBP to histroicaly speaking so we're in the dark about how well or badly it will do , all we are really able to do is aniticpate how the consumer will react.

I don't think LBP will be huge but I do think it'll be succesfull and in the long term an integral part of the Playstation brand image so it'll be more important as part of Sony's long term casual market strategy.

Just because some people say it will be huge do you need to make it apear like all Sony fans believe that?

I think pushing systems should add to it, LBP is aiming to be the mascot game for PS3, when you think of nintendo wii theres Mario that pops up in your mind, for xbox Master chief pops up, for PS3 they want Sackboy. They just don't want sell for LBP but also lots of activity on PSN with that community booming and trading levels and discussions.

I think Sony really wants LBP to do amazing things for the entire playstation brand.

I'm not saying that at all, I think you do not understand it (hell,  I think Okami and Beyond good or evil or one of the best games ever) . People on this site like sales and like to analyze about them so it just seemed like a dumb question. So yeah it matters to us, not because we will only like games that sell very well, but because we find gaming sales interesting (I thought that was the point of the this site).

I am, and have been for quite some time, one of the people who believe that LBP will be a "relative failure". I think it might go to 3 million lifetime, but 2 million sounds more likely. Don't know what to expect for 1st week sales... Between 600 and 900k worldwide maybe? It will not be a failure, but it will not be a huge hit either.
