Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony says 160GB PS3 will test demand for a higher-spec machine

^^ Yeah? What about them 20 gig (refurbished) hard drives M$ charges for?

Around the Network

The only thing the 160gb will test is the consumers pocket depth. Bad idea.

This report is actually surprising. I would think that w/ PlayTV, Sony's new pay-for movie download service, and upcoming audio downloads, more software sold on PSN and retiail, etc, that they would basically feel the need to just put in a bigger hard-drive so that customers would use the extra features and more importantly, purchase more of the DLC.

I am clueless as to what Sony is thinking about making this a limited edition but perhaps they aren't sure about whether to make this with a 100g hdd or a 120g hdd.....and want to see how people are using the memory, or even if they are.
