Forums - Gaming Discussion - Okay, I admit it. Nintendo killed gaming.

First MS with E3 2007 with Buzz being the big announcement.

Now this.

Why Nintendo, why?

BTW, if you look at Wii Third Party games for 08-09; there the trend is starting to shift back to core (or at least bridge) games.  And Nintendo MS and Sony still makes core games.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Oh noes!

Save the industry,Kill a Hardcore gamer

Stopped buying Ubisoft games. Will not buy Red Steel 2.Let them struggle on HD. Click here for a solution:CLICK
ALERT: I have also exposed a UBI'Z'OFT viral marketer in THIS thread.Read my posts, see the set up and watch how everything crumbles on page 8. Please learn from this experience.

Look at sales of Nintendogs. Can you blame them? While the core is a rich market it's far from the only market and MS & Sony have a lot of catching up to do to remain viable in their later years when traditionally the core already have the systems (or are waiting for the next gen tech already) and it's the casuals buying the systems.

NINTENDO is teaching all of us a lesson.

I think NINTENDO will (Wiill ?!?) still be around when mankind is extincted from this world. They Wiill sell mario games to aliens.

And you know what? They are going to love it!

Now that's something I can't understand but I certanly admit it.

Its different gaming, Give it a rest man

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

1. You're late, this has already been posted. Early yesterday actually. If it wasn't 7 AM, I'd feel more inclined to post a link.

2. I don't get what the big deal is. I'm a PS3 owner, and a hardcore gamer, and I'm not going to miss Eight Days one bit. We've got enough on the table, we don't need that crappy TPS. We've got plenty of great ones already. I don't need, nor do I want that game.

Whats the idea?

Take my love, take my land..

what you idiot fanboys must understand is:

the gaming industry = business.
business = max revenue at lowest cost = high profit.
high profit = catering to the biggest market.
the biggest market = both core and casuals.

the core gamers are already covered with our metal gears, halos, gran turismos, gears of wars etc.

the 360 and the ps3 are just playing catchup to what they should've done in the first place. both the core and the casuals should be satisfied to obtain maximum profit.

stop whining. core gamers have no lack of games.

exactly. its just that fanboys seem to think that the only 'proper' market is the core audience.

wake up people, both core and casuals deserve the same respect.
