Ok. I've read this nice "little" article.

So basically when Microsoft announces a motion controller the whole article has failed. Nice

One thing confuses me ... none of the channels (editted) really have to do much with gaming.

New channels for radio broadcast subscriptions and music downloads (just for your game unit or does it interact with an MP3 player?).

This may be getting too far from the core mission of a game console -- to play games. It could confuse a lot of consumers -- especially the casual group whom they are trying to reach with the Arcade.

Edit PS -- The games could be interesting ... but even if they are announced now, it might be 12-18 months or more before they see the light of day. So that won't buy much for very long.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Now as good as it sounds it most likely isnt true but holy crap if it is....! One interesting note though was IGN slated a, what Im sure was tenative, Halo map pack in September for this year. And I just went back to look on thr IGN release dates and now its gone. But your prolly right it will be nothing sadly.

A relaunch to promote a new interface is kind of odd. A relaunch should be a major change in hardware or functionality.

Also, giving 6 free Xbox original titles screws over all 360 users without a hard drive. Nice way to celebrate reaching the $199 price point, by giving away something those new users cannot use.

What MS should do is relaunch the 360 with a redesigned slim, cooler, quieter console and eliminate all live fees. Focus the relaunch of casual gaming and start a giant casual marketing push for the Holidays.

I don't know if the Jasper units will be slimmer (probably not), but they should be a lot cooler (65nm GPU) and I've heard that even the Falcon units have much quieter drives.

@papflesje

A black forum is a closed forum that only members have access to. I had to get permission to share this, and even then I was subject to restrictions thus the paraphrasing. One of the obvious restrictions is not sharing the original posters name. This is for the security reasons, and even had the original poster not requested it. I sure as hell would have not included it regardless.

@DKII

I doubt it is viral, because once again this is a black forum. That frustrates dissemination of said information. For the obvious reason that nobody can link the source, and that all of a hundred members at most will see the information. About the only place worse to spread a viral marketing strategy would be through a completely dead forum. Ideally you would want to use a public active forum after you spent a few weeks working up a reputation.

I heard the dashboard update was coming in November.

Okay, that explains a few things, but still doesn't answer the question where the source got his information from.

I have a good source as well, called "my thumb", but it's not really a believable source. So this person apparently has LOADS of information, just out of nowhere...
