Pleasing news even if you aren't into golf games and don't plan on getting TW 09 for the wii. The reason being that EA has shown some real growth on the wii as of late with strong efforts from TW and Madden.

The IGN boards have been going crazy about how the wii "only" got an 8.3 and how (last years) PS3/360 versions scored an 8.5. Ignoring, of course, that TW 08 for the wii scored a far less impressive 7.1 and the highest scoring wii golf game up until this point (we love golf) only managed a 7.4.

So, hopefully EA keeps it up.

Yea, I heard people were upset that the Wii version was an 8.3, because the headline led you to believe it was at least a 9.

The sound took a hit for being too repetitive, one gameplay aspect the reviewer wasn't good at docked the gameplay score, and the graphics were too PS2-esque, so the Wii version was the worst of the console versions. However, if I were to play my favorite ITunes playlist while playing it, Tiger Woods PGA would be a 9 something. Graphics aren't that big of a deal to me.

I'm reading the podcast right now, and they're saying that Tiger Woods 09 is the best the "old" Wiimote can offer. Pretty impressive stuff.

I'm really tempted to buy this, but the only thing that holds me back is the thought that '10 will be using Wii Motion Plus. The thought of a perfect 1:1 golf game makes me giddy with glee. Maybe they'll even use WiiSpeak in their online mode.
