Racing=Either. They both have good exclusives and share many multiplats. It's a wash.

Sports=PS3. Now that EA got their act together on PS3, I will give PS3 the nod for MLB and NBA series.

Shooters=360. You can't use future titles to tell everyone PS3 has better shooters. Killzone isn't coming out for another six months. 360 has better shooters NOW. No need to dabble in the future.

Platformers=PS3. I'm assuming we're not including the Wii in this argument, otherwise the Wii wins hands down for Mario Galaxy. Ratchet and Clank is a better selection than the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro nonsense 360 has been getting.

Puzzle Game=360. Echocrome is one game. Xbox Live has so many good puzzle games I could go on a very long list to explain away Echocrome, but I'll leave it simply as 360 has Braid. End discussion.

Best Action/Adventure=Either. Uncharted is great. So are Dead Rising and Kameo.

Best RPGs=360. No need to argue this one.

OT - I think PS3 / Wii are pretty close for platform games right now depending upon your tastes, I think 360 is still king of shooters but PS3 may give it a run for its money with KZ2, RFOM2, etc. I think Wii rules for fun games, although I would give PS3 puzzle/fun games from PSN, Wii has best party games, PS3 and 360 close for driving but PS3 just edges it currently I think, 360 is stronger in RPG, sports is a draw all round really...

But its all down to taste, really. I prefer Motorstorm and GT to Froza and PG but others probably prefer Forza and PG...

 Sports games = PS3 because of MLB The Show is Ps3 exclusive... best baseballball sim.

Also Motorstorm 2 is comming and everthing critics didn't like about the game (no split screen) has been fixed. Let's see where that goes. (Forza may have had a better score but didn't GT5P sell better...?)

Puzzle games - no clue why the poster just used echocrome. There are many quality puzzle games on PSN. Sudoku, lemmings, Pixel Junk Monsters (RTS but takes brains and thinking to complete levels.) Didn't pixel Junk do another PSN title with the name puzzle in it?

I would put Gears in the shooter category... Not much adventure if you ask me.

Remember, you're basing this on your opinion and unreleased games.  Since that's the case, I could come back with:

• Who has the best driving games?  Wii (Mario Kart, Excite Truck)
• Who has the best shooters?  Wii (RE4, Metroid Prime 3)
• Who has the best platformers?  Wii (Super Mario Galaxy)
• Who has the best puzzle games?  360 (Braid)
• Who has the best sports games? PS3/360(EA sports series with the slight edge going to the 360 because of achievements, next year they will be equal)
  
• Who has the best Action/Adventure games?  360 (Dead Rising, Crackdown)
  
• Who has the best RPG's? DS (FFIV, FFVI, The World End With You)

So yeah, remember opinions are opinions and don't count unreleased games.

Who has the best driving games? = Wii (Mario Kart Wii)

Who has the best shooters? = 360 (Halo 3 FPS, Gears of War TPS)

Who has the best platformers? = Wii (Mario Galaxy, though LBP will most likely overtake this one)

Who has the best puzzle games? = Wii (EoomBlox)

Who has the best sport games? = Wii (Wii Sports; most sports games suck anyways, but NHL 2K9 for the Wii looks like a solid addition if the gameplay doesn't blow)

Who has the best action/adventure games? = 360 (Oblivion, though Force Unleashed for the Wii might overtake this one, but I doubt it)

Who has the best RPG games? = 360 by default

Who has the best fighting games? = a tie between the 360 and the Wii for DOA4 and Brawl, respectively. All depends on your tastes. But the PS3 will reign supreme in this category soon enough. (The Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm demo has already convinced me that this is going to be the greatest fighting game ever made)

Who has the best of the horror genre? = Wii, once Fatal Frame 4 is released

Who has the best of the party games? Wii, the undisputed champion in this category

well, first of all, @ Beja-Beja, LOL. i love that.

second of all, the i dont even like the 360. i own a PS3. but i disagree completley. the PS3 does not have the best of any series but stealth games (MGS4 anyone?)

otherwise, the wii has a lot of the best, as does the 360.
platformers, adventure games, puzzle games, racing, all goes to the wii
shooters, sports and RPGs go to the 360.

now, get out.

@twesterm I don't think the OP was making a comparison to the Wii. This was more or less a direct match-up between the PS3 and 360.

I agree the 360 is best for RPGs today. That said, 2-4 years from now the wii will be the platform of choice for RPGs, especially JRPG, and to a lesser extent WRPG.
