Forums - Gaming Discussion - Leipzing press room rumors: EDGE to be ps3 timed exclusive.

I'm afraid you're going to have to be more specific on who exactly was spitting on MS for moneyhatting. Otherwise you'll get no results.

As for me, if people truly think that MS didn't moneyhat to get IU and timed exclusivity for TLR (as I've seen some claim) I see no reason that this has to be a moneyhat. Now if you (like me) admit that there was mostly moneyhatting involved for TLR and IU, then I will admit that there is mostly moneyhatting involved for Mirror's edge.

I'm sorry, I haven't read the rest of the thread so someone might've already replied to this, but you know IU was Microsoft's own project right? THat's like saying Nintendo moneyhatted to get Star Fox Assault made(developed by Namco).

what the hell is mirror edge ?

It's that game that everyone got worked up on because it's an adventure game "entirely" (remains to be seen) in 1st person view.

I'm glad $ony is done shooting itself in the foot and is aiming the gun at someone else for a change, but I don't think Mirror's Edge would be the best choice, there's alot of things that could go wrong in that game (namely depth perception if you're leaping off of roof tops of buildings).

It's DICE though, and I do love their work, but perhaps all that FPS gold has gone to their head and they believe any game can be played in first person. I'm still excited about this game though, if only because it dares to be different, from a developer who rarely leaves their genre (FPS) and from the industries whipping boy (EA).

How can someone so incredibly bitter still be a mod?

As in go buy us some coffee.

My only response to the other thread about this same topic

"Rolling and jumping in first person view, I'm pretty sure there are people that will get sick from that, hell my friend gets a little dizzy from FPS and this is waaay more movement involved. Anyways, this game looks OK, doesn't seem like a MAJOR game so I think that Sony possibly buying Time exclusivity for this game is a dumb move."

Like I said, if sony did money hat this, dumb move, wasting money IMO.

People..attend school, graduate at least..and maybe attend college. I can't take the lack of effort you're putting into your thought process.

1. I never condemned 360 for doing it. I just think they do it too often..what's this, the first game you guys have been able to get on Sony about?

2. It's a new, unproven game. It takes a lot less to buy exclusivity to these types of games, and even less for timed exclusivity.

3. Sony obviously knows a bargain when they see it. Consider statement #2, based with the gameplay we've seen from this game. They got a good price for timed exclusivity for a game that could potentially be amazing. Or, it could potentially bust.

I've noticed that since it's been rumored that it may be a PS3 timed exclusive, a few 360 fanboys are suddenly saying they don't think it's going to be a good game, blah blah. As far as I can see, you should be glad. What if it turns out horrible? Then only the PS3 owners wasted their money, and you already know before you are presented with the chance to.

Or the Ps3 is being used as the lead platform... and a developer was talking up the ps3... before any exclusivity was announced.

Now I wanna see all those riled up Sony fanboys who were condemning moneyhats as if they were a cardinal sin to take their gentle time spitting on Sony for bribing a developer [again, since they used to do that before the ps2 became so dominant it stopped being necessary].

I'm calling "bullshit." Please name a game that was bought as an exclusive by Sony in the PS1/2 era.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

Yeah I wanted to call him out on that too. The market leader with record sales really needs to convince people to go on their platform....

FFXIII all but confirmed for me that Sony doesn't money hat.

If this timed exclusivity rumor proves true, then Sony makes no sense at all.  Why NOT FFXIII, and why Mirror's Edge of all games?
