Name things that you like about the PS3 over the Wii and 360.

Forums - Gaming Discussion - Name things that you like about the PS3 over the Wii and 360.

Console design, look and reliability (even though I'm on my third I'm mature enough to know I'm unlucky and the damn thing is still more reliable that 360, although I'm sure the Wii is most reliable of all given its nature)

BC for PS2 (for me anyway, I know this is gone for many now) and up-scaling of PS2 games

Strong 1st/2nd party exclusives

Decent mutli-platform library

Quality of PSN games like Warhawk, Flow, Pixel Junk Eden, Super Stardust, etc.

BR & DVD up-scaling

Strong multi-media support for photos, music, videos. I now have all my digital photos & videos on PS3 and streaming music from my PC.

XMB design

I want to play LBP more than any other game at the moment and its on PS3

I'm also interested in PlayTV and PSP hookup - although I'm unhappy that the PSP elements may have been removed. I'll need to watch how that develops.

With my Wii and PC it fills out all my gaming / multi-media needs nicely.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Around the Network

Region free (oh so useful and greatest thing about the PS3 imo)
Controller
XMB

Blu-ray
Controller
Multimedia features
XMB
First-party games

Edit: (almost forgot) Free online

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

Great exclusive games, excellent downloadable games, free online, and hardware reliability.

The XMB design.
Live-comparable features with Wii-like prices. (PSN)
Naughty Dog, Insomniac.

Those and:

Other 1st party games, such as Polyphony, Sony Santa Monica, Evolution Studios, Ingocnito....
Fuller PSN downloads (half games, like Warhawk, GT 5 P, R & C QfB)
Style of console
PSP conectivity
PS2 BC

EDIT: I forgot some:

Blu-rays
Controllers' face buttons and d-pad
I dont have to hold the button to turn it on
I can eject from afar
Awesome disc drive, and touch controls on the console
Memory card slots
Optical cable output
Batteries in all controllers, no switching out to charge

Around the Network

the Backward Compatiblity...

Thanks that you wrote all that for me. Nothing to add.

They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts

Take this with a grain of salt as I prefer the Xbox360 and Wii heavily over the PS3, however the following tidbits are positive points for the system:

No region lock.
Decent amount of online offerings in the free set-up (I forget what this is called, is it the Silver?)
Wi-Fi.
Generally more reliable hardware than the Xbox360.

Otherwise: Indifferent to Blu-Ray, SIXAXIS controllers were little more than a gimmick that bordered on fiasco, same crappy d-pad as the previous incarnations, uncomfortable L2 and R2 triggers, ridiculous price, too many variations in models, not enough variation in games or the controller from previous generation. Sony's cocky attitude was like sandpaper on my nerves. Console itself too similar to Xbox360 and, for that matter, previous generation in overall games and gameplay (this particular note can also be said about the X360, however, Sony had another year to make the PS3 "more different" from the X360 and didn't bother doing it).

10. The Look and the fact that the pslogo on it can rotate so it doesn't look awkard when its lying down or standing up.

9. Ability to download full games online, ex. GT5 Prologue

8. Blu Ray

7. Controller is unbeatable.

6. LittleBiGPlanet was made for it and will kick ass on it.

5. The amount of detail in the games.

4. I doub't u'll ever see a 2 disk game on the ps3 because sony already has a 250gig plus blu ray disk that isn't ready to be released yet, as I found out on this site.

3. The XMB.

2. 8 controllers per system. (Now all i need is a massive projector so all 8 peopce can actually see what they are doing. lol)

1. The Games themselves are a whole level above the competition.
