Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Epic: Our games don't appeal to the Wii's crowd.

For the first time in history, u can choose the plateform you want

if u want to buy casual game/hardcore game
or
if u want to make casual game/hardcore game

I understand why they are happy.

Time to Work !

With the amount of people using the unreal engine on the pc, ps3 and 360 and the sales of gears I can see why they have a vested interest in the hd consoles. They could have worded it better though.

But then they wouldn't have gotten the street cred with all the cool kids.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Question. If there was a petition to stop support of the Wii from 3rd party developers, would you sign it?

Objection!!!

Zenfoldor: Withdrawn, your honor.

No i wouldn't. If there is lesser titles released on the wii know that the money for them is getting pumped into games i will actually play cause some casual gamer will buy the shovelware. I also know that competition makes for a better product. The main reason i don't like ports for wii though is the fact that you have to make a watered down version of a game. That time could have been used on the main platform.

CURRENTLY PLAYING:  Warframe, Witcher 2

I would buy a Gears game with that control, but as it's likely staying exclusive, that's a moot point. But I might buy a game like that on the Wii.

But users here are still not proof, which is my point.

Hypothetically speaking the Wii mote couldnt control all of the gameplay aspects of Gears.

Actually it could.

Gears doesn't even use all of the buttons on the Xbox360.

I see absolutely no reason why the Wii mote + Nunchuck would be insufficient for a GOW type game.

XBOX 360 Controls
\

Aim - Left Trigger
Shoot - Right Trigger
Reload - Right Bumper
Zoom - Right Analog Stick
Melee - B Button
Change Weapons - Directional Pad

TAC/COM - Left Bumper
Quick Look - Y Button

Strafe - Left and Right on the Left Analog Stick
Move - Up and Down on the Left Analog Stick
Look - Right Analog Stick
Interact/Pick Up - X Button
Dive/Cover/Run - A Button

Nope. Cant even be done with the Wii mote and the nunchuck.

NC is Nunchuck, WM is Wii Remote

Aim - NC Trigger
Shoot - WM Trigger
Reload - Shake, or auto reload
Zoom - (I'm guessing while aiming) WM pointer
Melee - A button
Change Weapons - Directional Pad Left Right

(....You're right...that would work....with an FPS. Even then it still wouldnt be fluid)

TAC/COM - C button (NC Bumper)
Quick Look - Tilt WM while in cover

Strafe - Left and Right on the NC Analog Stick
Move - Up and Down on the NC Analog Stick
Look - WM Pointer
Interact/Pick Up - (Not in cover) Directional Pad Up or 1 or 2. (The directional Pad for a pickup? find a button or else leave it alone)
Dive/Cover/Run - Directional Pad Down (Are you kidding me?)

Not to mention that the pointer allows you to put weapon select and items on the screen optionally. Along with picking up items.

Edit:
LOL, they just put upscaled screen shots of Black up...
Thanks guys I needed to laugh.

You want to show a game that looks better than SMG?
Always use Chronicles of Riddick. Haven't you read the fan boy handbook?

Apperantly you haven't played any Wii FPS. The controls are not the bad part... heck read some of the reviews from the same people who gave Gears 10's.

But my point isn't the Wii is good at FPS, I don't even want them. I am just showing you that you are wrong.

Epic is right. Nobody really wants any games from them except Gears on any console. Unreal has been the same 2 million people buying the updates for years - which is a feat in itself for having such a good following.

Of course i've played a Wii FPS, but what I stated was...Gears isn't an FPS and it was all for naught. I've played Red Steel (Sucked) Resident Evil (pretty good), Metroid 3 (Whatever). To play Gears correctly in a fluid manner it demands a controller or a keyboard, but even then id still recommend a controller. The Wii is amazing, but I do not favor it in the least for Shooters. Unless its house of the dead remakes from Sega (WHICH WAS AWESOME BY THE WAY!!) it isnt worth it IMHO.

We have to stop talking because you keep referring to games as FPS that aren't FPS, sorry.  I'm not going to waste my time reading your posts anymore.

Edit: Don't take this personally.  I'm just tired of everybody posting wrong info.  I'll be less bitchy tomorrow.

What ? Where ? I want to laugh with you cause I just see a not upscaled pic of Black from this XBOX Review http://www.planet-xbox.de/?article=3556&name=Black

You edited the post to put in different screen shots. You're so smart.

The original one's you put in were 650.

BLACK™

Developer: Criterion Games

Publisher: Electronic Arts

Genre: Shooter

Release Date: 2/28/2006

Console: Xbox playable on Xbox 360

1200

1 Player

Dolby 5.1 Surround

HDTV 480p*******Right here.*******'

Riddick, only goes to 480, you may want to edit that.

Ah ok now I know what you mean. Well I didn't even noticed that I deleted that pic from my first post. Sry for that.

As for Riddick. I took the pic from this XBOX review: http://www.spieleflut.de/artikel/1203/ . Check the date (27.09.2004). When they put PC screens into a XBOX review. It's not my fault.

@Zenfoldor

Nice pics, but since when are we talking about The Conduit ? ^^

@Barozi: It's ok, I'm just in a bad mood.

Once your on the site long enough, you'll know all the arguments and counter arguments. It's more of a chess game. I know what both sides of this argument are going to post before the argument starts. The resolution is a slip up that often keeps the argument going.

Show me where I stated that Gears of War was an FPS. What I stated was that its style and standard of gameplay couldnt be met with a Wii mote and nunchuck. Your statements make me laugh.

no problem. I just woke up, still a bit tired and forgot about the resolution....
