They recently announced that they had to lay off a bunch of their workers which I think may be due to losses incurred by Stranglehold. The only big game they have this holiday (AFAIK) is the new Mortal Kombat which isn't nowhere near as popular as it was in the early 90s. So the question is, how will Midway fare this generation? Things probably won't get easier for them. Will they go bust, restrategize their business or get gutted by a bigger company like EA?

They have Game Party 2 to save their sorry asses. Of course, if it retails for next to nothing like the first one, it won't make much money and the inevitable losses from the next Mortal Kombat will destroy them.

err... they have UT3 making money for them... UT3 is selling pretty well on Steam.

Midway needs to stick with the DS, Xbox Live, PSN and WiiWare for now and claw their way back up to console retail. How about a San Francisco Rush 2049 HD with online multiplayer?

i didn't buy a midway game since mortal mortal kombat trilogy, they really need to make better games or they can just go the way of acclaim
