Forums - Sales Discussion - PS3 will reach 30 million install base before the X360

Yes I can definetlly say thats Very likely OP

Around the Network

The 360 killed the PS3 last holiday season when PS3 is already at this price point. Speculation is that 360 will have a true price cut before holidays. If you have the PS3 that will roughly have the same price as holiday 2007-2008, I don't see why it can outsell the cheaper priced 360 this coming 2008-2009 holiday season. Therefore, no, PS3 will not reach 30 millions before 360 and will definitely not surpass 360 in 2009. I know PS3 fanboys are an extremely large Internet community, especially in vgchartz (thx to the always accurate sony defense force), but face the facts and logically predictions.

Highly doubtful. Sales models based on this generations sales patterns do not lend well to the OP's prediction.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

This is possible....

If you make some basic math mistakes.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Has anyone noticed ever since ff13 went multiplat, a lot of Playstation fanboys have kind of....you know... gone off the deep end of the cliff? It's sad.

This Blu-ray assumption is kind of sad imo. You can't rely on Blu ray to drive the sales of a console. (Just like Wii owners don't rely on JUST Wii Sports to drive it.) Cheaper Blu-ray players are also coming. (Samsung, Panasonic, and others.)

Bleu, do you realize that you just said that Ps3 has no good games? (technically.?)

"and is NOT offering any compelling software"

Tongue tied or honesty coming from you?

i know Ps3 will beat 360 this gen no doubt. But, taking Blu-ray into this battle is straight up stupid as hell.

I mean, if that's how Sony fanboys are going to play it, then why in the hell didn't people use dvd as a reason for ps2 sales? That's not fair to say Blu-ray will help out the ps3 but fanboys weren't on the internet saying "The ps2 sold 50 mil as a dvd player."

It's really just saddening and frightening to see these fanboy minds these days.

FF13 was a brutal blow, the 360 started to outsell the PS3 again was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Notice Sony P.R. Spinning has also increased exponentially in the last month as well.

This is true... if you align launches.

But since we're not, I don't think its very likely - given the way the Xbox360 is currently outselling the PS3.

Tease.

its not going to always out sell the ps3,its been how long since the ps3 been outselling the 360? 360 is just now outselling it world wide.....wich wont be permanent.

and lets not for get europe and over seas where the ps3 already passed the 360,and soon will pass them overe seas with them having 2 year lead.....nobody talks about that though its all about hurting the PS name, and BS negative talk with these fanboys.

One slight prob - look at the Euro sales - N.A. eclipses them easily. So, it's pretty much a wash of sorts. Then, with Japan sales climbing, the PS3 *may* keep winning, but it won't matter if MS deals a blow handily to Sony in the U.S.

Sure, there's more to the world than NA sales, but in financial terms, it would be nice for MS to have a foothold in Europe, but they could really care less.

So what if the PS3 passes it in others - it's not happening fast enough on any of the three fronts anytime soon.
