See, but we don't even *know* that.  All we have is anecdotal evidence from one store.  I mean, I assume based on past trends that it's probably not super sales, but for all we know they got more of the Wii version and had restocked it.  In other words, we have NO reliable information on how it is selling, and he is drawing claims that can't be backed up at all.

I mean, at LEAST wait until we have sales numbers.

 
Easy there skittles, I want the Wii version to do the best of any of them, I just don't see it happening given EA's lack of vision and the market as it is.

Um... guys I hate to break it to ya, but annual sports games aren't about "having legs".

If Wii Madden doesn't go flying off the shelves at the same rate as the 360 version, in the first few weeks before American Football season really gets rolling, chances are its not going to catch up before Madden 2010 comes out.

That being said, despite history implying that Wii Madden will likely "bomb", its not cool to post that its already bombed before we even know the 1st week's numbers.  I sincerely doubt that it could really "bomb" in any case -- it was probably dirt cheap to downport to the Wii, from the development platform (PS3/360) versions.

@alpha_dk, its not so much the stores evidence, its more the history of wii madden sales, granted its just 2 versions, and one with a on time release, however, there are major things pushing against it, the main demographic 18-30 males is the same as the hd consoles, there has been a heavy marketing push.
honestly the biggest mark aginst it is that last years ps3 version sold more on a smaller userbase.

the online comunity is also very big for madden, so wii has a hit there too unless ea can convince nintendo to allow it to host and run its own online system much like they wesaled out of xbox live codes that other devs have to fallow, madden on the 360, and ps3 will be the definitive versions

I thought you were, from your history, but enough people in this thread aren't so much kidding, so I wanted to be sure.

Yeah, this whole time I've been laughing at the all play crap. Not a single person I know even tried the dumbed down controls in '08 and on top of that all of my friends who bought '08 and thought it was ok, said they weren't going to buy '09 because they thought it didn't even have the regular controls as an option.

In fact since then one of them owns a ps3 and the other bought a 360 for his kids. They love Halo. Neither of them are big games and the guy with the PS3 mostly bought it for bluray. However, he is a big sports fan and plays most sport games. I think he had planned on getting the ps3 version since he thought the Wii version's controls were going to be gimped. The other guy, just doesn't really play games much and I don't think was going to buy any version.

I normally don't buy any sport games and since and only bought '08 because I had a few friends that had it and told me to get it. I sold it after 2 months.

I really think EA's advertising of the Wii's version should have been the same as the other versions with only a smaller mention of the new OPTIONAL controls.

I bet all of their 'All Play' titles will sell less this year than last.

My argument is that from the OP, we have zero (0) reliable data on its sales.  Claiming anything, especially a 'bomb', is BEYOND irresponsible on a website devoted to tracking sales.  We should strive for passing on and analyzing useful data, not something that I wouldn't even use to analyze trends at that one store.

How do you blame EA if this game doesnt sell on the wii? Frankly, at least they are trying and have now taken into focus how important the Wii development is to their success. If anything, maybe wii owners don't care for these types of games.
