Forums - General Discussion - Why I think abortion is wrong...

A sperm and an egg by itself cannot turn into a child. Once they are joined, they can. That is the difference.

No they can't, it takes months of additional work to make a child. A fertilized egg is only marginally closer then one not fertilized.

@ Onyxmeth - "She paid for it"?

If you think I'm going to divulge any potentially incriminating things over the internet, you're mistaken. Use your imagination. Think about what you would to the mother if she killed your child. Just so this doesn't go too far though, no she's not dead.

Did it go something like this (1m30 mark)?

or maybe

I just put that last one in because I've been waiting for an excuse to use it for a while now.

EDIT: I'm not condoning this though.

ever met someone whos been raped?

No, and I didn't say abortion was wrong if it was rape. I'm saying abortion is wrong if the woman, who KNEW the consequences, who KNEW there was a chance she could get pregnent, and CHOSE to have sex, should not kill an innocent life.

Sorry if I dodn't make that clear.

I didn't read the article because my computer doesn't accept those types of files.

I am for abortion when there are certain circumstances. If she was raped, than she should be able to abort. If there was a condom tear, or the birth control didn't work, she should be able to abort.

For those who are saying it is murder. Using a condom is preventing potential life. Do you find that immoral as well? What about birth control?

1) A sperm and an egg by itself cannot turn into a child. Once they are joined, they can. That is the difference.

2) But Im sure most Pro-Life supporters are in favor of abortion for the extreme circumstances: rape, incest, potential harm to the mother.

3) But condom tearing, or birth control not working, are not good reasons because there is no way to prove it. Any girl can say the condom tore, even if they didnt and could get an abortion. Its not a plausible option for that.

1) If a condom was not being used, nor was the birth control, then a life could have been made.

Abortion, condoms, and birth control are ways of not having a child. The only difference is the time when it is stopped. Condoms and birth control are before a pregnancy ever happens. Abortion is during the pregnancy.

2) Yeah. I agree with that point.

3) It all really depends on the sincerity of the mother. If the condom did tear or the birth control didn't work, she should be able to abort.

 1. You dont get what I am saying. I'm not saying that stopping the chance of a pregnancy is wrong. Stopping a pregnancy while it starts is. Unless you do some really damaging things, or if the mother has some extenuating heath circumstances, a child will be born once pregnancy occurs. You shouldnt be able to have an abortion because it is killing the potential child. A sperm and an egg, like I said before, cannot grow into a baby individually, but once a woman becomes pregnant, whoever the case she did, there will be life unless something external happens like an abortion or a condition that causes a miscarriage.

3. You cant rate sincerity especially when it comes to something as serious as this. Sincerity can be faked.

But the guy who wrote your 29 page article belives it is still wrong in the event of rape, but he is willing to concede their murder. Actually, he uses the word "content."

That's true... and why kill someone for their father's crime? Thanks for making that clear.

Well if you hit women, I'm glad you don't have kids.

25% of pregnancies are miscarried by the 6th week, and 8% afterwards.

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

There is so much wrong with this statement. So you feel an unborn fetus is an "innocent life", yet if the creation of that "innocent life" was rape, it's ok to murder it?

That's messed up.

And yes, you have met a woman who has been raped. Well, unless you only know 3-4 women.
