I've been starving for some PS3 RPG goodness.  I've never played a Disgaea game.  Would you recommend me to buy it or steer clear?

You can pick up Disgaea 2 dirt cheap now and find out if you like the style.  If you do you'll have one great game and another to look forward to.  If you don't, you'll only be out $20 or so at the worst.

if your dying for an rpg on the ps3,its pretty much your only option.plus i heard the others were good,and its at a slight discount price(49.99 i believe)i say give it a chance you might end up loving it.

Good points, Damstr8. I was planning on picking up as long as no one in here said, "The series sucks, don't waste your time."

Since no one has said that, it seems like a no-brainer now :)

Isn't Disgaea Tactics and not RPG?

its a strategy rpg.

Yeah, I don't care if it's turn-based, live combat, strategy, simulation, tactical, or whatever. I've only recently gotten into RPG's (Final Fantasy III DS got me going), so I've been giving all variations a chance.

I liked FF Tactics, so I'm sure Disgaea being an SRPG won't bother me much. I haven't played a console RPG yet, so this will be my first. That's kind of sad, considering I've been gaming for over 24 years :)
