Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Found a cool contest for a free Xbox 360 game

At least they don't have a follow the niche hardcore gamer herd mentality. :)

Their laughable reviews discredit them though. They would be better off just recommending games based on how suitable they are for certain age groups, although the stickers on the boxes already do that. Or they could go into more detail about the content of a game in terms of how suitable it is for children.

They don't need to follow the hardcore niche.  They do need well written reviews, and a site that doesn't look like it was thrown together in 30 minutes.  Not to mention the site isn't very useful if it has no information on games like MGS4, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Uncharted, Grand Theft Auto 4, Ratchet & Clank, etc.  These are the games parents would need information on, not Cars and The Bible Game.  Although apparently M rated games are "porn" and "morally corrupt".

Also, why is there a family friendly rating when it seems every rating is determined by it.  For DQVIII you say "The graphics are some of the most impressive to grace the PS2" but it receives a 70%.  I can only assume this is due to many images "not promot[ing] a positive view toward the Christian faith".

Anyways, the reviews are poorly written (even by video game journalism standards), the scores are relatively worthless in terms of the quality of the game, and the site is just painful to navigate.  Maybe I am missing the point, and you merely wish to differentiate between the evil heathen games and the righteous Christian games.  However if this is true, it seems that listing the "morally corrupt" content, and giving it a letter rating from Angelic to Flagitious would be more effective.

I finally remembered this other similar site.  http://www.whattheyplay.com  Perhaps it doesn't fit the mantra of Mature games are evil, but it is infinitely more useful to parents.  Why I have wasted so much time on this is a mystery.

Obviously I am not as judgemental as some others.  I see a lot of talent in their writings, and like the style they use.  But then if I talked to all my friends about opinions like yours and they would find your opinions laughable. Or they might say something like: "more proof that video games rot the mind."

To each their own.

Oh I get it. You work for that site. This is just promoting it for you. Good job stealth marketer.

The BIBLE Game on the Playstation 2 (PS2), and Xbox is a serious contender for Game of the Year on both systems.

lol

there's no diversity because we're burning in the melting pot

Haha, clearly video games have blinded me to the brilliance of their writing.  I am actually trying to give them some constructive criticism, although I admit more contemptuous than necessary.  However, that could be due to you advertising this site under the guise of finding a "cool contest" for an awful game.

As much as you might hate a site like IGN, and feel they are "anti-clean video games, and fanboyish of the dirty ones.".  You can't deny that actually have a plethora of content, website that is functional (though I personally dislike some of their recent changes), and a design that doesn't look like a geocities website.

It really is a shame you and the others associated with that site can't enjoy a great game just because it contains imagery or themes you don't agree with.

I don't hate IGN - just find them to have the wrong perspective.

Dude stop drinking the cool-aid.......

BTW: I do not have the talent to work for a site as prestigious as theirs. I would love to learn how to right all proper and the like.

I like em because they use God's perspective and not the shifting in the sands thought process mere people uze.

why was viva pinata scored so high with all the pinata murder and pinata sex?

"I like my steaks how i like my women.  Bloody and all over my face"

"Its like sex, but with a winner!"
